How would it feel like going in to take this test without taking practice test first?
You’d be fine

do we have to bring wooden pencils, or can we also bring mechanical pencils
They have #2 pencils if you forget; as apparently some people didn’t read the whole letter. You can bring your phone but it must be turned off prior to entering the building. The test is not hard, comprehension mostly.

I just finished up. If you have common sense you shouldn’t have no problem. This career is memorizing rules and what you was trained.

I got the text of the date and time of the exam, still no email or admission letter yet though, should the text be good enough to take the exam?
You can bring the text that you have on your phone and a government issued id.

It's not exactly their fault. The maintainer of the philly tracker site has to update their stuff as well, which they haven't.
That, and people have no clue how to use it properly.
I've scanned my card on it a few times and it sometimes doesnt even register, the op let me on anyway. The scanner also got one of my cards blacklisted. This is a biggest issue, a lot of people’s card get blacklisted, but I think that’s a bank issue thinking it’s a fraud purchase.

Its scanning the QR code on a bus that made zero sense because the driver visually verifying it was many times faster and just as good in terms of revenue collection.
Scanning only works in a proof-of-payment environment where people are either scanning before boarding or at multiple places inside the bus or rail vehicle.
They need to ditch the paper passes and tickets this would have stopped all that nonsense. They need to get on board with fare cards.

So NJT buys these scanners (which I can't imagine are cheap) and then after less then a year of use, will disable them making them an expensive ornament. Way to go NJT. I guess the scanner/ornament is a great symbol for NJT mismanagement and reminds the riders what their 15% fare increase are going towards.
BTW, Suburban's local buses (6148-84) just got the scanners less then a month ago and some drivers like it, some hate it and don't use them at all.
This is njt for you. I actually liked it because it sped up my trips. Njt is a joke and refuses change to the dated fare system. We should be in a one log in system instead of this rdm mess.

So Washington Township is severely short, what buses are going down the Turnpike from Wayne? There were some Decamp converts that were sent up the Expressway from Egg Harbor Twp but that's not going to cut it with summer around the corner. Their neighbor Newton Avenue loans them buses too but again summer is coming and the 316 will be in service soon.
No buses are coming from Wayne. Twp got 18064-18067, 17063,17069-17075, 17103, 17109 from Egg Harbor, and now we are short buses with no replacements. Over 10 decamps at eht are out of service by DOT. Not to mention twp still has 19136/19143 from newton. Also twp didn’t get the 316 last year.

Welp NJT axed the changing of the fare system and the scanners in the buses. Due to increased dwell times. Ultimately the system will be turned off and the scanners will be useless.
The dwell times was created because that scanner required the red dot to be perfectly on the QR.
For this system to have worked, paper tickets and passes had to be discontinued and replaced with a fare card that could hold your mpass and tickets and you tap without waiting on the red dot 🔴. NJT also refused to change the fare register. Septa has the same readers for use with their fare card and tap pay system. Also the addition of having the option to add your pass to your Apple or Android wallet.
There is an internal memo in all garages about the system being suspended. The front office of NJT needs to be put out of service and they need to clean how with ones who want change. We should not be carrying cash in 2024.
NJT fails again.

Update with Six Flags.
Academy will not be taking over. It’s some private company that you have to have a reservation for.

So apparently there are up to 60 XD60s at a lot near Fort Dix.

Oof. The elevator problem is now invading buses regarding parts only available in Europe. Is it a Neoplan part or a MAN part?
NABI

do they not have enough service persons?
also, in the event a bus goes OOS from DOT, does the driver get a fine?
Njt gets the fine.
The lack of parts and Formans approving buses to go out that shouldn’t be on the road. The parts issue hasn’t really recovered since covid. It’s only going to get worse, but all the Nabis need a part that’s only built in Europe; right now they are at a 190 day time frame.0 -

NJT Big Tree garage got a surprise DOT inspection and as a result there are numerous buses out of service and/or delayed.
Same thing happened at egg harbor. Njt maintenance is going down bad.

I’m slightly confused, when I did the 308 it was always a tripper and not a straight run? Unless you literally mean they need the bus back at the depot to do another run?
Most of the 308s that Howell had was paired with actual full runs. Most jobs back to nyc did either 137/139/319, Or Newark for the 67.

I’m curious, did SF pay a subsidy to NJT to run it?
Contractual, the contract was written as such that NJT is to use the employee entrance to speed up the process so they can get buses back to where they need to be. Six Flags broke the contract.

It’s one of their most profitable routes though, why cut it??
I just love the speculation. And you heard it form the source.
Six Flags was cut because Six Flags wanted njt to come in the car entrance. Now imagine the amount of traffic the buses have to sit in when they can just continue to go in the back and leave. We need our buses back out for other trips not sitting in an entrance with cars. Six Flags said no, and njt said ok bye. If it’s not broke don’t fix it.

There’s a multilevel rail car parked on track 1 at the AC rail terminal. IDK if it’s a cab car but it’s being used for training and practices on the AC Line
4210 is there as well all black Erie & Lackawanna. It’s a transfer; had 4 comets, 2 cab and 2 non cabs. The multilevel 7510 is a non cab car hooked with one comet cab car.

Toms River is 31 zones from NYC, Toms River is 18 zones from NYC. Not sure how many ones Six Flags is from NYC.
6 flags is 17 zones, however you can’t buy a zone 17 tix; you have to pay the special fare tix for the 308.

You can apply for train operator or locomotive engineer at NJT can’t you?
They are very picky on who they pick. I won’t elaborate publicly but if you want to pm me I will gladly tell you.

Not true, you do not have to score a 100 on the test although there are people who will. Average score is between a 80 and 95. To be fair if your in the top 8000 you have better chance of being called.
