  1. I see how this is working... they giving staten island buses that are decent in age and not ready for retirement... then all the depots that have the staten island Orion Vs and RTS (NYCT only) will get a share of the 690 order.

    Well kinda .. Yes. But Staten Island is in bad shape ATM so they're gonna send the good ones over there and the bad ones down here or another reason could be for mileage reasons.. They wanna balance everything out.
  2. To me this seems similar to what happened with the XD40's. 45 split between two depots so the (MTA) might be happy with both the XD40's and LFS's.

    Well the reason those XD40's went to EN were because the union guy at UP lost the election and that's what caused those buses to go over there. If you think about it it's kinda obvious.. If all 90 models went to 1 garage except the xcelsiors.. EN weren't suppose to get those but I brought this up when they first did the swap between EN & UP with the xcelsiors but nobody believed me. I spoke to the union rep about what happened and he told me what happened, I mean I live across the street from the depot so I know what goes on but nobody believed me.
  3. The ENY XD40s never went back...they stayed there this whole time...all 45 of them...

    Well remember when they first got them they were going back and fourth to UP & EN then they finally got things set after a few weeks... Like 4815 went there for training then back to UP then back to EN for service then back to UP then back to EN for good, then 4862 was the same way.

    It was.. Now it's at FB.

     

    Following buses back at FB: 4959 and 4961. Spotted respectively on the B46 on Eastern Parkway and Utica. FB decals on both buses. Looks like 4959 returned from quill. 4946?? May also be in Brooklyn also.

    4959 came back from Quilll, 4946 came back also. 4961 went from EN - FB. FB lost 9670 & a couple others I heard to FP.

     

    Any roster up dates?

    If there was an update it would've been posted about a month ago lol for now everybody will have to keep their eyes & ears open.

  5. Ok so what buses will GA transfer out?

    They aren't transferring anything out at the moment.. They're just short & they're gonna use the 05's. But I did speak to a family member of mine who works there (not a driver).. He said they're gonna get rid of the next gens, no I don't know where they're going or what's gonna replace them.

    Maybe the reason is IMO that since the RTSes r being loaned to YU and so GA probably sent out a few and they decided to put some Orion CS in service

    No.. There's only 2-3 RTSs on loan to SI from GA & that's only week days.
  6. TA and OA buses don't usually go to MTAB facilities to get worked on. And being that it was going there from Zerega, I thought that there's nothing that they can do there that we can't do here. I was wrong...We don't have the correct stationary saftey stands or adapters to do heavy work on the bus. And since 1217 is the pilot bus for the 4 year overhaul program that the 12xx series LFSA's are going to be put through next year, it needs HSO work done to it. So, yes it went to MTAB CMF to be worked on.

    Ahh, now I see...

  7. 1217 headed towards ENY depot. Since they are renovating that depot to be able to handle artics, I would guess that they need 1217 for clearance testing...

    Base shops is there as well.. It's probably heading there for work. I saw about 2 of them inside EN earlier this morning couldn't see the #'s though.

  8. I admit, I was rude in the post I made, but please don't just jump to a conclusion about a person or anybody out there by one action. Damn.

     

    Anyway, to put this back on topic, I'm noticing a lot of the Castleton rejects seeing service on the Kingsbridge routes. The got fixed and cleaned up pretty well.

     

    BTW 4053 at Yukon.

  10. The shortages in Manhattan are not that big to constitute loaners to stay that long. Besides, the new pick IIRC starts on September 8th, so changes are possibly coming.

     

    Luckily, Quill is not going through an artic shortage. I just hope they're ready once school season begins.

    Ahh, and yeah the new pick is that Sunday.

    Speaking of an artic shortage, what's the word with those 1999 buses over at 126th? Any chance that the elusive '1300' ever makes service?

    Hmm.. Looks like someone will have to make a trip over there lol. I hope it would go into service. I'm surprised the brought that one back out of storage instead of using another #.
