  1. I've been out of the loop lately, and search on this forum is kind of useless, so...how long is 7088 staying up north? I noticed a few pages back it was mentioned as still upstate. I understand that it had engine/transmission issues, but how long does it honestly take to resolve and repair/replace the faulty components? That thing's been out for a year now, right?

Well I can tell you the little bit that I know. But I heard it's getting a different engine so they have to do some testing just to be sure. But it didn't have a fire or accident because I was behind it when it was leaving New York 2 guys came to pick it up and I was returning home from PA and saw it heading into PA.
  2. No, but I'm not sure what they will do. They may fix it, or they may scrap it - I will notate that on the roster.

SCRAP... They're not fixing that. Look at the year of the bus, and how bad the fire was. It's still registered to YU but they have to investigate then get approval for scrap from the big man then they send it off to EC and pick off whatever's left of it.
  3. Idk. I think it was MHV who told me info about 7088. I havent seen it in service here..so its not back. Also..with 4899 it was gone no earlier since July 11, when i shot it on the B1.

Ahh okay, didn't know you shot 4899 either. I hope they could find a solution, well the only thing they have to do is get the transmission that matches that engine. They put a truck engine - a city bus transmission, typical MTA =(M)oney (T)hrown (A)way.

6529 - now at East New York with its stickers, working the B83.

    BTW - 3690 at KINGSBRIDGE?

6529 has been at EN for a few weeks now. I saw it 2 weeks ago (I believe) on the 82, didn't know it was a move so I didn't post it lol.

  4. about 7088... engine overheated and burned some parts

Where did you hear it over heated and burned some parts? I heard it was something with the transmission but I know it's not in New York I believe it's in Oriansky... Well I don't know about now but last year in Oct it went out of service. I actually rode it in the Airport, transmission sounded bad.

Erica: That is a funny one, FP moving it to ENY and now ENY loaning it to them lol.

Didn't know about 7088, off the roster it goes. What happened tot it?

3646 at BP, ok got it.

3690 was, as said already - in Kingsbridge for a while.

Can't officially take things off the roster just yet. Just sayin... and 7088 will be back soon (if it's not back in service now) Oh & speaking of OOS, you can list 4899 at the Vendor. Well it's not out here anymore either, since the engine continuously crapped out they're going to do either A - Run some rests and find a solution or B - Say to hell with it and repower it to a simple ISL9. It's been away since June

  5. Ok, and 9240 was at ENY working the B82 the weekend before, so it must have been moved back or loaned.

Update: New roster will be revealed tomorrow - as I am uploading new roster pics to it. I thought I could finish it today, but it needs another day.

Ahh, never knew it went back. Thanks for mentioning it, are you using the Wiki Site ? Or did you create your own?

  6. 9240 is back at Grand? Wow.... Ok, changing that on the new page.

It never left (recently) it's been at GA for a month I believe. Fresh Pond was first to mention it weeks ago though.

I think hes saying 8975 is at ENY but 9240 is not at ENY but it HAS ENY stickers and its at GA....thats why he said saw it on the B47

Yeah only 8975 is at EN.

Then doesn't that mean it is at ENY? That doesn't make any sense that it isn't at ENY meanwhile it has ENY stickers and it's been at ENY.

Only 8975 is at EN.. 9240 is at GA its been at GA for weeks now but it still has EN stickers, even though they didn't change the stickers that doesn't mean anything really.

  7. That then begs the question: why has 126 Street not activated or installed BusTime beacons on 1300, 4705, and 4708? (1300 has a BusTime ad on the front.)

Well because.. Those buses aren't staying. Why put gps on buses that aren't staying. They're just here for a short period of time. Just because the ad is on there doesn't mean they have gps or will get gps they're just advertising. That's like when the gps first got activated on 320-345. 346 had a GPS ad and it was never activated. Plus, private contractors come along and change ads on buses they don't know any better lol.
  8. 320-329 have been there for between a few weeks and a few months now. 330 also made the move to the Bronx. The reason for this is that almost all of Gleason's buses now have BusTime beacons on them, enabling any bus to be placed on the B61 or B63.

Well 320-324 have been there for a few months. Didn't know about 325-330 going there.. And I don't think the bus time has anything to do with it... It was MANDATORY for all buses to get their GPS activated on them. The Bronx has theirs, they send guys out there in company/private cars and they get them processed. They do it at night though, that's what they were doing here at Ulmer Park. The people would come at night,, 3 guys per (4) buses a night. But there was a Memo that all buses in the Bronx get their GPS activated, you could be right but I don't think the bus time had anything to do with it.

  9. All the 4900s moves is maddening. Why not just keep it simple and keep 33 of them at: UP, FB, ENY and leave it at that? Keep the 99 buses in Brooklyn and if Queens needs buses back, send them the 9600s and some 5000s.

Age/Mileage thing. But I do agree with what your saying ... All though it is good to swap around so you can see what they're all about :) .
