I heard that as of last week, the M4's and M6's have been retired from service. Only the M2's remain.

I agree. On the PA-5's, the tv screens always display news of the day and weather. It just makes me wonder why the R160's can't display those. The only things they've been showing are MTA related stuff.

So I took the R188 today. The door chime sounded the same as on the R160's instead of the version heard on the R142's and R142A's. I think of the R188's as the A Division version of the R160's, without the FIND displays. I'll post up pictures soon.

So it looks like the LIRR's M3s are the only ones with the old interiors. BTW, I finally was able to catch an M3a! It was the 2:25pm Harlem Line local to North White Plains.

The one thing I miss about the M3a's is their original interiors. There is not one car that has it anymore.

So when are the best times to catch an M3a in MNRR? I barely see them on the hudson. The only times I see M3a's is when they're idling in Grand Central or out of service.

I saw a video of the R142A in the Grand Central-42nd Street station and it appears that they do fit in the Steinway tunnels.

So, does anyone have any idea when will the M8 start running full service? I heard they supposed to start running at the end of last year, but so far, nothing has happened.
