  1. 113 & 8768 are scrap at ECH as of 1202hrs Friday. I delivered then both there personally. I think the roster needs to be updated again, it is upto date in spear.
  2. Yep, RTS heavy and as the bee's have major issues they'll get knocked down. I remember driving them at Liberty and never thought in my life, I would be the one bringing them to scrap, let alone scrapping them from the MTA. To me, at least it is kinda sad, but they are so beat. It's like pulling the plug out of mercy. However sad, I can try to give them a good send them off with a Liberty driver that drove them at their best and with some dignity.
  3. Believe none of what you hear and only half of what you see at the MTA & you did answer the questions as if you KNOW better than I, to questions that I actually do on a daily basis for a living. Just like, that BO's don't know what they're talking about unless they're in the hobby (XD60), as if you are the authority on all things MTA. Fact and speculation are two different things, knowing the difference is important. Telling someone something as fact when they live the fact is not only arrogant, but very annoying.
  4. They'll send the files when they sent them. The files LGA did receive were the fuel, oil & coolant analysis.
  5. So how about that 9079 again. The 9079 which is currently assigned to JA.
  6. ABSOFUCINGLUTLEY NOT! I have a car assigned to my post & they will assign upto and including even if it is overtime a BO, Maintainer, helper, line supervisior or a dispatcher bring you back safely and in a timley fashion. THE MTA WILL NOT ALLOW A OPERATOR ON DUTY IN A PLANNED BUS MOVE TO LOOSE HOURS ON END IN PUBLIC TRANSIT & LIABILTY FOR INJURY ON DUTY OR BE A CRIME VICTIM THAT MTA WILL BE LIABLE FOR. IT IS AN IN EFFECT POLICY! They will have a parts truck bring you back even if it is out of their way. They will have road control Or even a service truck bring you back. Further more YOU DIDN'T see a move to ECH and the BO had to take a bus back, how do I know, because you did'nt see the begining of the move, the BO was dropped off at the depot where the bus was at and came to ECH. Also the BO has an option to clear from the depot where the move ends if it is the end of your trick. I DO THESE MOVES FOR A LIVING I AM A DIVISION SHIFTER, most moves are arranged in 3, 4 or even 5 way moves involving buses and non-revenue vehicles. I have been transported by vendor vehicles to destinations for moves. NOT ALL MTA vehicles are marked. My unit is assigned a black impala ex-MTA police car. You may speculate as much as you want, but you do NOT do this job! I DO! So do NOT speak or post on which you do NOT know. If you want to know ask those who actually do this for info. DO NOT EVER TELL ME OR ANOTHER employee how to or how they do their jobs OK! BTW if you guess or assume it is BULLSHIT & HORSESHIT! And bullshit & horseshit is bad for ya!
  7. If I go to Atlantic Detroit Diesel/ Allison in Lodi, NJ with a bus and don't have a bus to bring back, how do I get back to LGA or any MTA facility for that matter? Or better yet, I take a bus from CP to ECH scrap with nothing in return to CP, how do I get back to CP?
  8. Yes, however they have problems. I saw at least two CS Orion V's with their transmissions dropped out of them & 1 with elec. issues last week alone. LGA gets RTS's when ECH can spare them if they are not scrap. I picked up 8913 from Zerega from the "program" & 8945 from ECH after it finished service for the day last Tuesday.
  9. Nope, thay have worked 2 of LGA's MCI's in the last couple of weeks. Keep in mind probs. w/ the C40's are under usually warranty, so they go to NEBus or Cummins (I've brought a few of them there in the past couple of months).
  10. If these were being deliverd from the factory they have to go to NorthEast Bus for acceptance. They get inspected by MTA & NF personnel (about 12 items)and then get their acceptance package which incudes plates and reg. card copies and then picked up by the depot they are assigned(usually upto 2 weeks). There are about 10 C40's at NEBus today w/o plates and plastic wrap on the front still.
  11. ENY doesn't have alot of maint. bays, contrary to how big the facility is. JG may have little work to do w/ the infux of new buses so they do work thats farmed out. Same thing is happening at CP. CP maint. is a ghost town, so they are willing to A/C work for LGA.
  12. Sorry to say, 801 is not at CP, it was towed out of CP at least 6 weeks ago. I was supposed to drive it up to ECH for scrap, but the engine was so shot it was inoperable. It started and ran like a shake table while pissing oil w/ coolant in the oil,(check eng.& stop eng. telltales on)then stalled not be started again (plenty of cranking). So the CP decided to have it towed. I watched then put it on a hook.
  13. Yes, any buses for scrap have to approved by the CMO's office (Chief Maintainence Officer). The request for has to come from the resident depots' GS Maint. and then evaluated by customer service/DTS (Department of Techinical Services)if any reason to scrap the bus is valid before it is approved for scrap. The big reasons to scrap a bus is structure or bad engine, oddly enough a transmission does always make a bus scrap regardless of age. I know of buses that have had trans. failures require replacement and the trans. was replaced only to have lets say a level 3 bulkhead crack discovered less than a month later, and that would knock the bus down and approved for scrap.
  14. [quote name=MTA Bus' timestamp='1344174681' post='566254] College Point has a NovaBus ? Is this temporary or what ? Nova RTS & Orions from LGA go to CP for transmission work, 9308 is there for a trans. seal leak.
  15. Agreed, all 3 RTS' I picked up on tuesday evening have issues.
  16. As long as the quality of the work is good and stays that way yes they can last. Not all buses are in the program. I don't know what determines which buses are in the program. It maybe MDBF or a number of items?
  17. The plan is to overhaul 190 '96 Nova RTS to keep them going for another 2 years. These buses are getting an overhaul from, floor sections to replacement of radiators, Wheelchair lift towers to full supension replacement, depending on condition of the componets. The template for the scope of the program is similar to a 12 year overhaul, but not including paint, body work and A/C.
  18. 8750 is in Gersow scrap yard it was picked up monday evening, not OOS I personally check the shifters log at ECH.
  19. Also received recent Inspection repoprts for SOPU, A/C & inspections for 8955-56 and few others from QV.
  20. 8764,8806, 8862 & 8933 are at Zerega in the overhaul program. I delivered 8933 to Zerega for overhaul Tuesday afternoon.
  21. Got 8955's file today, I wish we had 9085's file. 9085 needs a trans. Also recent Inspection repoprts for SOPU, A/C & inspections.
  22. No it cannot be a 8yr. program, those are 1996 models.
  23. NH: Zerega or ECH? is that a program bus or not? BTW that file has to be sent to LGA for our files then, so I can put in the file drawer at LGA.
  24. Neither, MTABus has a div. shifter post. I move buses depot to depot, CMF or vendors. Such as ENY, Grand, Zerega, ADDA, CAT, Cummins NE bus/BAE. that kind of shifting. I cover Queens North for MTA bus.
