Anyone remember this study from 2014, the one with the Q105? I was thinking about it a couple of minutes ago. Planning at its worst.
What didn't you agree with in the plan? @GojiMet86?

@RailRunRob Love that Idea. very similar to Triboro RX.
@Union Where did you get that track map? There are ones for the full Archer Av extension somewhere that look very similar...
Just did some reading on the RX this really would be a fair easy investment on the existing infrastructure. Could also link the old Rockaway Line in as well. How you upload files? want to uploads some tracksmaps and some possible timetable's for headways.
Here's my basic overall plan for the Rockaway Branch. A new C division so to speak
The Rockaway Branch would share it’s trackage with Queens Blvd Local trains. From Howard Beach to Yellowstone Blvd. As well as IND Fulton trains from Howard Beach to Rockaway Blvd. The Rockaway Rolling stock would consist of modified NTT or M7/M9 cars like it’s sister line the Central Line.2,3,4 tracks 600-650V nominal 3rd Rail systemPossible routes and short turns- LGA to JFK via Rockaway Branch
- JFK to Jackson Heights
- JFK to Co-Op City Via HellGate
(Bold depicts a terminal station)*Short turns** SubstationMiles- (0) Howard Beach -JFK ,
- (1.5) Liberty Ave
**Whitepot Yard- (2.14) Atlantic Ave LIRR
- (2.5) Jamaica Ave ,
**- (3.12) Myrtle- Forest Park
- (3.82) Metropolitan Ave
- (4.18) Yellowstone Blvd
**splits to Manhattan via Queens Blvd (B Division)via LIRR main line.joins Central Line (LIRR Bay Ridge Line)- (6.70) Queens Blvd
- (7.23) Roosevelt- Broadway *
- (7.82) Northern Blvd (Central Line Trains to Bronx)
**- (8.37) 25th Ave
- (9.04) 82nd Street
- (9.89) LGA

So what are the levels down there? I assume its on top of and then on top of ?
From what @Bob posted the line is slated to cross below every crossing besides and Amtrak.

Same thing with Hudson Yards...
You really have to understand what that station clears to appreciate it. Besides multiple tunnels both Rail and vehicle. It clears the basement of the 800 foot skyscraper. It's an awesome station.

The issue with Chrystie St is that it is not wide enough for construction of a four-track station; based on the engineering studies they did, construction of a same-level subway stop, besides all the shutdowns it would entail, would also require digging up the park adjacent to Chrystie St. Given that this is the biggest green space in the immediate area, digging it up is a no-go.
Hanover Sq is planned to be deep, and the tail tracks are planned to dive under all the existing tunnels. Clearing the East River should not be a problem.
Umm interesting never saw this that's at least 75-80 feet. I was wondering if that area could support a deep station answered!!. At that depth you could clear the Riverbed without any grade on the Manhattan side.

4 Tracks on Chrystie seems abit tight especially for a same level station. I mean she's no Bowery... The building line would be awfully close. Ultimately if they decided to alter Phase 4 and tie into the Nassua street Line persay which I think was the talk around town it's possible Grand maybe skipped together no? Depending on where they tied in either at Delancey probably the most cost-effective, maybe the severed tie on the Southside of the Manhattan Bridge curve under and connect there? The Echo Vault(SAS section) is in this general vicinity Confucius Plaza I'm not sure of the orientation but could this be used? Also are all the Brooklyn crossings at capacity? What about the Montague tubes?

It might be Jamaica. Phase 3 includes a connection to Queens via 63rd St from 2nd Avenue.
Is this a full two track connection? ie Christie Street? Also with Phase 1 how far down 2nd Ave did they tunnel south of the curve on 63rd if at all.

Look's like a M7 and M8 hooked up and had a baby!!

I wonder when they will start using M8s on the SLE?
The only recent thing I could find was this: "The [Conn]DOT is also working to expand the New Haven Line’s M8 railcar usage to New London." From here: http://foxct.com/2015/05/20/rail-advocates-turn-attention-to-southeastern-connecticut/
Seems they just started.. Testing at least

lol... Sure if it floats your boat. Nothing wrong with discussing. However, I could never see myself wasting time looking for a specific bus or a train. Time is money. I guess for folks who don't work and live at home with mommy and daddy they have tons of time for stuff like that. More power to them!
Correct just let the boat float. Rail Run Rob says: It is easy for one to talk but it is twice as hard to listen. Words to live by.

So R143's operates on the BMT Eastern via a code manual mode? How easy is that setup for the MTA? Is it kinda like ATC overrides?

That's why the forum is awesome. A place for those who do care to talk about it and not be persecuted. Wouldn't you agree @VG8?

Not bad.. M7 and 8 mix..

Why not ask yourself this: where does the T run and how many connections will it have to other subway lines? The is a sorely needed enhancement to the line considering how horrendous the transfers will be (and I'm speaking about all 4 phases of the line). Tentative plans mark all of the transfers as "under consideration" and a few of them are going to be very long walks if ever implemented:
- Lexington Avenue/53 Street: The 53 Street Line's platforms reach 3 Avenue, one avenue over.
- Grand Central–42 Street: The Flushing Line's platform are just touching 3 Avenue, one avenue over, but the railroad terminal is 3 avenues over.
- 3 Avenue: The Canarsie Line's platforms spans from 3 Avenue to 2 Avenue with the easternmost end touching the middle of 2 Avenue.
- 2 Avenue: The 6 Avenue Line's Lower East Side–2 Avenue station spans from 2 Avenue to 1 Avenue, with the westernmost end of the platforms about a third of a block away from Bowery. The station was built with space above for the Second Avenue Subway, but if the platforms were built below the existing station instead, it would be a long walk up.
You'd understand if you tried using the Lexington Avenue/53 Street connection to 51 Street.
This, by the way, is what the structures look like underground for the connection to 63 Street:
So they built the tail tracks for Phase 3? S1 and S2?

Yea just borrowed until Corona can send more R62As to Westchester... and they still put their strip maps on them so that passengers don't complain about where are the maps at. Iv heard from a few sources not yet confirmed when the swaps are done , Westchester and 240st will swap R62As so that Westchester yard can have R62As 1651-2000 and 240st yard 2001-2475 . Also it seems that Westchester will go back to their older yellow yard stickers cause iv started see them peel the purple stickers already especially on 1791-1795. I spotted 2141-2145 on the and its now full width cab.
What was the Pre NTT Westchester Yard R62a assignments? 1651 to 18xx? I know they also had R36's at the time as well.
I don't think yellow yard stickers--or yard stickers at all--are coming back.
What was the reason for them to change the yard stickers when the R62a went over to Corona anyways? I know they got Cars from Westchester, Livona and a few from 240th was it more for consistency

what depot was the bx54 dispatched to?
I think it was ether The Coliseum or Walnut Depots.

Looked at it before when I was young. Now that I am older I know that all those plans on his map will never happen. It's impossible..........
Impossible is a strong word. Def some hurdles but I wouldn't call it impossible.

I see there eliminating the bus division's on the new livery.. No more "NewYorkCityBus" Vs "MTA Bus" just the logo.
