  1. Sure, BO can't be wrong, cuts off traffic that can't fit, drives on the wrong side of the road, clearly he knows what he is doing and must be the best bus driver around.

The only people who's emotions are being toyed with are the uber bus lovers who can't see the forest for the trees...

Why was the car driver following him from Flushing to Great Neck, I don't know, maybe it was because he WAS DRIVING FROM FLUSHING TO GREAT NECK to visit his parents.

No, this all has to be "wha wha, he was mean to a bus driver"

  2. I seriously can not believe you guys are standing up for that kamikaze BO.

You want everyone to get out of his way? install a bus lane.

Crowded streets, no place to go, and the buses are just trying to jam themselves in. Square peg, round hole. Just because you're bigger does not give you the right of way automatically, more so if you are trying to occupy a spacial point that someone is already in.

Are there bus drivers who have it rough, yes. Is this one one of them? maybe, but it doesn't give him the right to drive like that. Sitting here mocking the guy in the car with his wife, 4 year old child and a family friend who's six months pregnant, you should all be ashamed of yourselves. "Oh, that was edited. Oh, they're trying to make the bus driver look bad". They didn't need to, the driver was doing it all on his own.

That's about a half dozen moving violations on the part of the BO.

  3. Can't, you need something to host it. Unless you own a server, the moment you shut off the machine, the information wouldn't be accessible. Basically we would only be able to see anything you post while your PC is on and connected to the net.

Also, I don't get this issue about switches. I live near the Myrtle Ave el. And that has no switches between Myrtle and Metro. Train gets stuck, train gets stuck.

  4. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you not once say you LEFT the UES 20 years ago.

Neighborhoods change all the time. Anyone who left Ridgewood the same time you left Manhattan, would find the north section inundated with Polish immigrants, and the south section being invaded by hipsters. And forget Bushwick and Williamsburg.

I would dare say you really don't know the USE any more.

  5. So you want this based only on connecting the UES with Columbia?

Then that is exactly the problem I keep telling you is wrong with your ideas. You are attempting to spend Lord knows how much money using a niche market as justification. They can take the subway to the M60SBS.

Expanded campus? More Dorm space? That is not a sufficient reason to build a subway line.

  6. OR you could just do the logical thing and just put the Q back to 57th/7th full time until SAS opens. You start by basically suggesting rolling the clock back to 2010 on 6th and Broadway, but then throw the curveball of a train that WILL NOT FIT.

The E and F already run on tight headways, and you want to throw Broadway into the mix?

  7. The amount of service he's trying to force through west 4th will cause the system to have a heart attack.

    You don't need to reroute the J, when there are transfer options that could esialy distribute the load. You are NOT spreading everything around. Besides, you're assuming;

A: Everyone won't mind backtracking and going the long way.

    And

B: that everyone will be traveling in that mess.

Some people will just plain stay home.

Others will find alternate means that don't involve the J or the LIRR if you're that convinced no one will ride it.

Some people could take the Q59 to the L train.

Others can take the Q38 or Q58 to the M.

Then there are the local buses over the bridge.

An then there's the express buses.

And then there's driving/getting a lift/taxi to LIC for one of the operating connections.

    Shall I go on?

Thing is Wally, your plans are always so one dimensional. "Oh, they can't use the E, therefor they must take the J." You always seem to operate on "if A, must be B", when real people think "If A, can be B, C, D, E, F..." Etc etc etc.

Remember you are also hurting those who'd use the J under normal circumstances. You are over crowding their trains, making them late.

  8. "Glove and Boots"

My sister found these guys some time ago. She's mentioned them once or twice, but when she watched one in the car I had to see if for myself.

The videos are made by a couple of guys from Brooklyn who used to do subway puppet shows.

    glvoe-and-boots-define-spam1.jpg

Their two main characters are Mario, a red "Muppet" style puppet wearing a yellow shirt with a big green M on it, and Fafa, a talking groundhog who's Mario's best friend and roommate. Supporting characters include a gorilla, named Gorilla.

some are general comments on pop culture

    some are music videos

    Some are top 10 lists

In 2012, they were duking it out with Justin Bieber's DJ over best video blogger. If G&B won, they said would slid down a mountain in Wyoming in a porta potty...

  9. so some reason my new desktop can't quote...

Drek, you idea suffers a lot of the same problems your previous proposals did,

#1. Making stations that were never meant to be terminals terminals

Kings Highway is NOT a terminal.

What do you have against Euclid that you still short the C at B'way Juct?

#2.Telling us interlining slows service, but you still rely way too much on diamond cross overs.

Truth is the subway is designed for interlining. It's how the system has been operated since November 23, 1904, the day the Lenox ave Branch opened for service, a month after the original mainline opened.

#3 Over focus on evening out tph*, to the detramint of choice.

*plus the information you used is off. The A to Rockaway park only sees 5 trains a day, and they do not operate the entire route southbound. The first four put-in at 168th, the last puts-in at Dyckman Street.

#4 No regard for operational logistics.

example, sending the R back to Astoria brings back the same problem the R had for years, it lacks storage capacity. Today, all lines have a yard somewhere along it's route. Some have more than one. Sending the R to Astoria leaves it with no yard, and zero storage capticty without some serious deadheading.

  10. It's not so much "wailing away" as much as it simply makes no sense. You are giving a greater imbalance of service to inwood. I'm fine with making suggestions, so long as those suggestions make sense.

for example, when SAS phase one opens and the Q is shifted over, many people have come to the (rather reasonable) conclusion that this might cause them to bring back the W. Now if someone suggested that this new W run to South Brooklyn, say to Bay Parkway on the West End. that makes some sense. It restores lost service, since the M is probably not going to go back there, and it fits into the system (the Ws can use what had been the M's slots in the Montague Tube). Only one person suggested anything like that, but makes the W run peak express on the West end, which is three stops, and therefor not much use once it goes local and you lose all the saved time when the D you were on goes sailing past you at Union Street...
