Are 7507 and 7548 still sitting in Jamaica or were they moved elsewhere for repairs?

Schooltripper7989 thinks he has the answers!   IDK where he gets UP from, we were under the impression that these are Gun Hill bound, until/unless the swaps between them and Jamaica isn't reversed by the time one or both of these buses are repaired.  Plus where does he get 3-5 months from?  Does he have inside information on the timeline for repairs, or is this his opinion, which he should have stated?

  2. The point is, Mr. TheMTAEmpire, that this 139 bus order is significant because they all went to the same division: Brooklyn.

Is it ok for the veteran members of this board to give updates on the status of the 40' Nova's arriving which are exclusively for the 3 Queens Division Depots?

I never understood why the B82-SBS wasn’t assigned to Ulmer Park despite the terminal being literally outside of the depot. I can get why the B82 Local is based out of ENY.

If you assign the B82-SBS to Ulmer Park, what route do they give up?

If you take the B82-away from ENY, which route does ENY pick up?

Remember, whatever your answer is affects other depots too.  Assigning routes to depots is a balancing act that reverberates throughout the division.

This happens way more often than it should. I can't count how many times I've been stuck underground with absolutely 0 communication, or mumble jumble, from the crew. It is a real problem and frankly more people ought to be reporting crews that fail to properly communicate.

If the crews were told the reason why by supervision or the tower operator, they would tell you.  When they do ask, they'll usually get a surly answer, particularly from the tower operators or simply told "you'll be moving shortly" which means you'll move when we clear the signal (if applicable) or they take away the holding lights.  So don't blame it on the crews, blame it on the person who does not deal with the passengers at all.

2214-2215 at Castleton has been retired.

2291-2294, 2296-2299 at Charleston had not been running for a long time. They are currently either going through maintenance, or are in long-term storage to even out mileage.

Or just nor needed for service at the present time.

Reminder to all:  a bus shouldn't be considered retired till it's seen in ECH scrap lot!   There are too many false alarms of retired/scrapped buses here.

Shoot would you really want some of them in charge making serious decisions for the agency? You’d definitely get stuff like the (B) and (D) both running out of concourse yard,  different train fleets running on various lines just because it looks cool and etc.

When I made the post that New Flyer 230 was responding to I was being kind.......I know damn well that most posters who I was referring to couldn't even pass an entrance exam to enter the agency.  Therefore, we really won't have to worry much about them making important/strategic decisions anyway!

Some are still paranoid about covid.

Nah, they just want privacy!  It's up to the riders to call these operators out by registering complaints via the MTA web site or snail mail because there are no passenger seats allowed to be blocked off by the operators!  Period.

As much as I hate to say it if CP looses most of their express runs because of the redesign it’s on them. I can’t keep defending express buses when I can barely rely on them. I’m definitely at the point where I’m starting to view the LIRR even during peak as a better option. I’m on a bus now probably the first time in months and the op is just dragging his bus on QB stopping early on every red. Luckily I’m not in a hurry today but idk how normal riders put up with this.

He has a schedule.  He could get written up by an SLD if he's early.  "There's always an excuse to be late, but never an excuse to be early".

So how do they plan on replacing the R68’s on the Franklin Shuttle?

They will make the decision when the time comes.  Today's decision makers at MTA/NYCT will be long gone by then and it will become somebody else's problem.  Maybe some of you guys can take entrance exams, get hired, move up the ladder, and become tomorrow's decision makers so YOU can make the call!  For now, today Saturday Feb.3, 2023, can we please deal with the R211's and the replacement of the almost 750 active R46's and 50+ SI R44's first?

It's OK to speculate but the speculation of barn/route/line assignments of new equipment lately by so many posters to this site is beyond over the top. Plus too many guys are posting equipment assignments from the standpoint "This is what they WILL Do".  Absolutely preposterous!  Can we please be patient?  This stuff about what will happen years from now is way past ridiculous.

Is anyone else concerned with the fact that no word has been said about the “S” class? There’s all this hype about the “T” and “A” but not one single official has said anything about SIR.

They have to keep it simple for the press, plus when any story airs on TV they have limited time to show it.

When Staten Island gets their allotment, I guarantee there will be a big press briefing and the SI Advance will make it a page 1 story.  But for now, it makes no sense to mention it because they are quite a ways away from getting them, plus NYCT doesn't want Staten Islanders to get more pissed off than they already are because their cars are so late already and their R44's are being held together with the proverbial "duct tape, glue and chewing gum".

On the NBC 4 R211 news story when they talked about the R46 being replaced..... they showed video of an R68.

Also the MTA president said it's time for the cars to take a swim, the MTA president isn't aware that they went back to scrapping cars the old fashioned way? Unless plans changed. I doubt they will go back to reefing for R46 disposal as the stainless steel reef program didn't age as well as it did with the Redbirds.

It's beyond ridiculous on how long NYCT Presidents have stayed lately.  No doubt Richard Davey is still learning how things are done here.  Now if he wants to change things, well the only person he reports to is MTA Head Janno Lieber.

Ever since back then I started posted about scrap moves and transfers, at some point, I learned what to do or not to do reporting accurate info (advice from other members as a key note). This wasn't me wanting to post any units when I feel like it. But this right here what I'm seeing in bold with italics is extremely downright disrespectful and unpleasant on what I'm seeing as a transfer. What can you possibly gain by quoting me to this remark that has this negative motive?

To everyone who posts moves on here, I apologize if 1536 was mentioned as not being at LGA just yet. I saw a Prevost unit at LGA past Thursday and saw a 6 and looks like a 3 at the end not knowing that was 1556. I wouldn't post anything that I don't see, and it was actually here in the Prevost facility outside Wednesday at 6 PM passing by (not going inside the property).

    * Note to the mods: I also apologize for this reply as a backlash. It had to be said to put everything in place.

    Just continue what you're doing.

The (B) will have to be transferred operations from CI to the Concourse in order for that line to be fully NTT.

Several times it has been said here that the "B" cannot be maintained at CCYD due to lack of barn space.  CIYD will still have to maintain that fleet.  It will be a good way to introduce the maintenance workers in the barn @ CIYD to learn how to maintain the R211's and the needed CBTC.  Transit can easily set up a yard track or 2 with the required CBTC in order to test the cars when needed.

I was referring to the actual design of the train, not the cleanliness; ofc no train looks good when its dirty. In the the case of the R142s & R142As, I heard it had something to do with the material the trains are made with; that would explain why Jerome R142As 7591-7810 look worse compared to Jerome R142s, even though neither is currently being cleaned externally due to the yard wash being 'broken'.

Thay are washed at Concourse Yard and the wash is not "broken".  It is out of service due to a GO as components are being replaced.
