U know that 1645 went on fire in may
Oh I do have a picture of a bus that caught fire back on June. I couldn't get the number of it but it looked to be a late 1600.

Here's the thread where 1542 was auctioned off, and I'm sure I double checked those lists: http://www.nyctransitforums.com/forums/topic/35849-retired-nice-buses/
I can't seem to find the old auction pages because they seem to be hidden or removed, but if you read through the thread, the buses were sitting on the side of Mitchel Field under LIB and not in service at the time.
What I'm thinking now is that the auction didn't go as planned (maybe non-paying bidder or NICE decided to keep the buses at the end), and NICE probably kept the bus. However, none of us were informed if that happened. AGAIN, I'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED.
As it is, we don't know if each auction goes through successfully and the bidder pays and the bus is out of NICE. We can really just assume that until its officially off NICE property.
1542 is still running around. It was at Hempstead Term yesterday on layover before running on the N46 or N47.

Saw 1785 on the N15 on Sunrise. It's not that rare for RVC buses to end up in MF territory but for the opposite to happen on a weekday is weird.
It seems they are sharing buses. And it's said that NICE is on short buses. They don't have enough buses drivers show up and there are no buses and have to wait until one comes in from service.

Sitting all in the way in the back of those NGs against the vent can make you really hot.
I wasn't sitting back there. Others also felt the full blast of heat that suddenly came about. The ac feels great sitting in the back of the 1700's/1800's! It blows great.

On an NG earlier today (1710) and somehow the heat was blasting.
Are they still rewrapping the rest of the NGs? I haven't seen that many around - on the way home, I noticed all but two buses were Orion Vs.
Most likely the AC went out on it. Was any cool air blowing at all when you first got on? I was on 1730 last Thursday the AC was blowing ok and all of a sudden heat started to come out!

1713 is wrapped. MTA blue stripe showing.

But 1732 doesn't have that, so some other 1700s might not have it either.
You have to look very close. Off white and white. I have a pic of 1727 up close were you can see the white and off white
.

Did the MTA stripe show or not?
On the 1700's they have like this white tape covering up the blue stripe under the orange.

That's what I'm wondering, they really don't have a need to replace them. They Might have new signs for the N17 possibly, but it's technically a waste of money to go around replacing signs in good condition when they could simply place a sticker on them if a route changes. Most routes still have the same destinations so technically there is no need to change the sign.
Yes, there is a new N17 sign on N Franklin Av/ Fulton Av, right under the N6,N15 16,N31,N32 sign.. Seen it today on the N6 LTD..

Thanks for the help Amtrak7

Did you upload it to a hosting site like Imageshack? Once you do that you can take their "for forums" code and paste it right into the code box.
I upload it to Photobucket.

You mean like it doesn't say "Thank You for riding Long Island Bus" anymore? What does it say?
It's not the same woman MTA had programmed ,that always announces "route number, next major stop..etc" It's now a man.

1828 is wrapped also, saw it at the terminal yesterday morning around 6am. It can now display "NICE BUS" as well.
1598 has new announcements.
