  1. 59th Street (Lex Express, both directions). In this case we're talking northbound, as there are no timers to slow you up (yet). It's the IRT equivalent of that nice quick run from 59-42 on the (A).

You know everything. Were you the one that said you've operated every line in the system some time back?

  2. Ewww Someone peed at the 149 Street GC station

Can someone get electricuted if they peed on the tracks?

People piss in the subway daily. If their urine comes in contact with the live rail (otherwise known as the third rail which carrys electricity) as he/she is urinating, it's game over for that person.

  3. well i was a conductor in the irt, i flagged in the irt,ind and bmt. now that im a student train operator in the B div i am starting to enjoy it. today i took a

R46-R train from jamaca yard to euclid on the C and back. then i got to relay it back for it to go in service at 71st. so while i miss the irt and the comfort of working close to home i am liking the bmt/ind.

Cool. Always interesting to hear MTA workers' opinions.

  4. Well thank you t/o for giving me something to watch. I was just now staring outside my bedroom window (yeah I know, I'm bored) when I saw a t/o rushing into Cypress Hills Manhattan bd around thirty-five mph. Now the timer in that station clears around ten mph. Dude tried to brake in time - nope he got his ass tripped. Dude came in so hard that the foundation of my house started shaking, thou it never shakes when trains leave Jamaica bd.

  5. I didn't know that the slightest grade would get a train moving. A m/m operating an R68 on the (;) released the brakes as he heared the door chime at Beverley Rd s/b, the train moved a few inches before he gave power to the train.

Also, gotta love rushing into Sheepshead Bay n/b. Those tracks got an R160 rocking back and forth like an R32.

  6. Most of the time I do shop online for the same reason. Thou when it comes to clothes I'd rather do it the ol' fashion way to see if it's the right fit. I don't want to wait a fortnight to get a pair of sneakers that might not even be the right size when I can go to a shopping center, see if it's the right size, and wear it out the following day.
