Lennyj17 Posted May 25, 2010 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2010 I recently noticed that after being freshly repainted - MTAB Buses look somewhat disorganized (Unit number fonts all over the place - stickers missing from the back) and with the OG's I noticed MTAB "whitebacks" do not have their side panels painted white they remained black...NYCT repainted their panels white and the unit number fonts are uniformed all them blue... East New York Posted May 25, 2010 Share #2 Posted May 25, 2010 There are several paint shops between the two agencies, and I do know that NYCT has painted MTAB buses. I'm not sure of the other way around, but i would imagine they have to paint NYCT buses sometime.
bstar1 Posted May 26, 2010 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2010 I've noticed that NYCT buses are treated as 1st Priority, and MTAB buses are being treated like a stepchild.
Queens Surface Posted May 26, 2010 Share #4 Posted May 26, 2010 Buses sent from (MTA)NYCT to (MTA)Bus are buses that would most likely be scrapped in a short period of time, so (MTA)Bus doesn't put it as first priority to repaint and add the correct decals. JohnQPine Posted May 27, 2010 Share #5 Posted May 27, 2010 I've noticed that NYCT buses are treated as 1st Priority, and MTAB buses are being treated like a stepchild. Sounds familiar....here at LIB they didn't even bother renumbering the roofs on the Orion V CNG's. Just stand at the RF parking garage and you can still see the old 3 digit Nassau numbers on the top of the buses. Then I was on 1793 the other day, they used sloppy blue tape for the bus number in the back of the bus interior. I'd expect to see that in one of the V's, but not the NGs, should be white paint. Come to think of it, alot of the 1700s dont even have a number painted in the back interior.
