Concourse Express Posted June 3, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 3, 2010 These are some shots of Great Adventure I took on Memorial Day. Spent the day riding coaster after coaster, plus a few flats; I posted the full trip report on my blog (link in sig). That said, here are the pix (all of which were taken with a disposable cam and then slightly edited using Paint.net). Kingda Freakin' Ka: Karate Kid ad-wrap on Ka's orange train: For some reason, the "Bizarro your hero now" quote's been blacked out... I call this one "El Strideo"...Stride Gum ad-wrap + El Toro = tacky combo IMHO: 'Twas good to see Houdini open; it was closed all of last year: The Exploratorium...former site of Batman and Robin: The Chiller Hope you enjoyed!! And yeah, it definitely was! 'Twas the most riding I've ever done in a single GADV trip!!
Grand Concourse Posted June 3, 2010 Share #4 Posted June 3, 2010 Yeah, that pass sounds like a great deal. The best I did in 2008 was to ride at least every coaster at least once with the exceptions of: El Toro [none cuz it was broken], Nitro x3, Kinda Ka x2. Btw, what kind of ride is Houdini's escape? I don't remember that back in 2008.

I don't remember that back in 2008. Houdini is a well-themed flat; first there's a pre show with some effects, then you enter the ride room (long benches on either side). Basically, you rock back and forth at increasing angles until you do a couple of slow flips. The best part IMHO is when the ride stops while upside-down for a few seconds toward the end! Grand Concourse Posted June 3, 2010 Share #6 Posted June 3, 2010 Interesting, is it like top spin or something?
Concourse Express Posted June 3, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted June 3, 2010 Interesting, is it like top spin or something? No. The Twister is Great Adventure's top spin, which is located near the path to Kingda Ka.
Grand Concourse Posted June 3, 2010 Share #8 Posted June 3, 2010 Oh ok, well I'll keep this attraction in mind next time [dunno when] I go back to 6 Flags.
