Swisnieski Posted July 14, 2010 Share #1 Posted July 14, 2010 Hi! Does anyone have any pictures of the interior of the stationhouses such as Huguenot. And also including the Tompkinsville new stationhouse! I'm curious to see what the inside looks like! Thank You in advance!
NX Express Posted July 14, 2010 Share #2 Posted July 14, 2010 http://www.nycsubway.org/lines/sirt.html On the right, choose the station(s) you want. There should be some stationhouse pics.
Swisnieski Posted July 15, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted July 15, 2010 Yes you are correct there are pictures of the station houses but only the outsides, not the interior of them.
TheArr Posted November 29, 2010 Share #4 Posted November 29, 2010 I don't have any pictures, but the stationhouse at Grasmere is a small 1 story brick building. I've never walked into it, but it looks like there's a small waiting room with a bench in there and the walls are tiled like a bathroom.
Paul Uhland Posted January 13, 2012 Share #5 Posted January 13, 2012 IIRC, the in-use Annadale waiting room in the '50s had a terrazzo floor, wooden bench and glazed tile walls, with a small corner ticket window with a grill over it. The rest rooms were even useable.

The rest rooms were even useable. That's exactly how most of them along the line are. Oakwood Heights was the same way. They used to keep the stationhouses open usually until around 3-4pm, weekdays. Last time I was in a stationhouse was probably around 2004. I used to use the one at Oakwood, then when I used to wait for the S59/S79 at Eltingville to go to work, a bunch of us would utilize the house, and keep warm in there upon the arrival of the bus(es). However, like I said, that was up until 2004. Are they locked 24/7 now?
