WMATA Posted November 15, 2010 Share #26 Posted November 15, 2010 I'm glad they're consulting with passengers. I personally wish they kept the leather seats and carpets, but at the same time they have to increase capacity. I'll miss those amenities, too. I'm not fond of the bus-like seats and carpeting actually makes the interior of the cars quieter. Although, the carpeting on some cars looked pretty gross at times. Johnny Cocker Posted November 16, 2010 Author Share #27 Posted November 16, 2010 Any word when metro will get rid of the carpet on its existing rail cars? Its so dingy, dirty, very hard to keep up, and just needs to go. I've only seen the carpet gone one two of the 6000 series cars, I think 6026 and 6027.
