"New Timetables Effective Monday, June 27

We’re adding trains to the current schedule (without increasing our operating costs). Changes to watch for include:

On the Hudson Line:

To give our mid-day Hudson Line customers more express service and alleviate any possibility of crowding, we’re creating more weekday and weekend express trains from Poughkeepsie and adding limited-stop service from Croton-Harmon.

On weekdays, the 2:40 PM and 5:40 PM trains from Poughkeepsie will operate express from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central.

From Croton-Harmon, we’ll have new limited-stop trains to Grand Central at 3:37 PM and 6:37 PM, stopping at Ossining, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings on Hudson, Yonkers, Marble Hill, and Harlem-125th Street.

For those of you heading into the city on the weekend, the 7:40 PM train from Poughkeepsie will operate express from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central; a new 8:39 PM limited-stop train will run from Croton-Harmon to Grand Central, making stops at Ossining, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry, Hastings on Hudson, Yonkers, Marble Hill, and Harlem-125th Street.

•Also, look for minor schedule adjustments on some off-peak trains to better reflect actual running times and improve operational reliability.

On the Harlem Line:

• Minor schedule adjustments to weekend trains between Grand Central and Southeast to accommodate an upcoming bridge timber replacement project at Croton Falls.

On the New Haven Line:

• Look for minor schedule adjustments on some off-peak trains to improve operational reliability.

• To accommodate the Connecticut Department of Transportation project to install a new Danbury Branch signal system, substitute bus service will be provided on the branch on weekdays during off-peak hours from 8:45 AM until 4 PM, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays (except Independence Day Weekend, 7/2 through 7/4), through mid-August.

•To provide those of you who ride the New Haven Line more summer holiday train travel options, we’ll operate three extra inbound (to Grand Central) and two additional outbound (to New Haven) trains on the Mondays of the three-day Fourth of July and Labor Day holiday weekends.

Additional express trains to Grand Central will operate on July 4 and Sept. 5 at 5:50 PM, 6:50 PM and 7:50 PM from New Haven, making local stops to Fairfield, then Westport, before going express.

On July 4, two additional trains will depart Grand Central to New Haven. The first leaves at 4:04 PM, with first stop at South Norwalk. There’s also an 11:08 PM train to New Haven (to take you home after the Macy’s Fireworks), first stop at Stamford, followed by all local stops to New Haven.

On Labor Day (Sept. 5), the 4:04 PM extra train to New Haven will also operate along with a 7:57 PM express train to New Haven, first stop at Westport.

Be sure to pick up a new timetable available in Grand Central Terminal and outlying stations, or view our schedules page for train times."

This is nice for the Hudson Line with these minor service improvements. However the (MTA) really needs to return the 'super express' northbound service for the 9 and 10pm hours to Poughkeepsie weekdays.

The 912pm and 1012pm 'semi express' northbound to Poughkeepsie is murder w/ SRO crowding.
