MTA to Issue Competitive RFP's for Bus Lane Enforcement System (BLES)

The BLES will be rolled out along the Bx12, and M15 SBS corridors. DOB intends to include an option in the contract to expand the service to additional SBS and local corredors, should the evaluation of the system recieve favorable results.

 

The RFP's will be competitive, and if the board approves, the TA will be able to award the contract on a Best Value basis, as classic competitive bidding has been deemed impractical.

I still think bus lane enforcement is weak unless they literally ticket unauthorized vehicles (i.e. not buses) within minutes of them entering the lanes.

that's too smart for the MTA...they need something that wastes excessive amounts of $$$
