6 to 10 inches of rain expected.

NYC Under Tornado Watch

Atlantic City, NJ and sourrounding areas now under 4 seperate Tornado Warnings.

With wind speeds of 85mph, Irene has spawned several tornados recently. Of the nearly 400,000 New Yorkers ordered to evacuate, it is believed that more than half have ignored the order. It's going to be raining for hours, and most all of the areas under evacuation order may not have power after the storm.

More than 1.4 million in the dark now.

It still remains that last hurricane to make landfall in NYC was 1893. When Irene made land fall in NYC this morning she had already been downgraded to a tropical storm.

Widespread flooding, power outages, and down trees across the region. No major issues reported.
