MSBA Logo

Recommended Posts

as railbus stated. The Logo (lt blue/dk blue "M" thats on the front) was what was inside the silver bullet as the logo which was typically placed behind the last window on both sides of the bus. each MTA company had the same logo with something differenet under it even before a formal MTA company was created (Ex, Metro-North)

Heres what each one said:

NYC Subways "NEW YORK CITY" along the top and "TRANSIT" under the "M"

NYC Buses "NEW YORK CITY" along the top and "SURFACE" under the "M"

SIRTOA (SIR) "NEW YORK CITY along the top and "STATEN ISLAND" under the "M"

all the others had just words under the 'M', nothing above it

LIRR "LONG ISLAND"

MSBA (LIB) "SUBURBAN"

Metro-North:

befoe 1983 "CENTRAL" (Harlem and Hudson lines)

"NEW HAVEN" (NH line)

After 1983 "METRO-NORTH"
