Buzzyboy104 Posted July 31, 2008 Share #1 Posted July 31, 2008 [sDoes anybody know what New York City Transit Museum Buses need extensive repairs? For example, the 1938 Fifth Av Queen Mary Double Decker still does'nt mechanically operate. And the 1956 Mack Bus #6259 needs a new transmission. Also, is the 1963 GMC 5303 model former NYCTA bus #3758 also down with problems?
trainfan22 Posted August 1, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 1, 2008 I think GMC RTS 1001 needs some repairs, someone spotted it on jackstands at JFK depot the day before the rodeo.
Q25toJamaica Posted August 1, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 1, 2008 It sounded like 7340 might need repairs or already got them, because on the first ride on Sunday @ the roadeo, it was grinding for about 20 minutes.
SubwayGuy Posted August 1, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 1, 2008 It sounded like 7340 might need repairs or already got them, because on the first ride on Sunday @ the roadeo, it was grinding for about 20 minutes. Explanation: That bus just grinds when they drop it into gear. The reason it wasn't running when they tried to move it is the rear door was unlocked and they didn't realize it at first so they initially thought it wasn't in gear, and "That bus just grinds when they drop it into gear." Buzzyboy104 Posted August 1, 2008 Author Share #5 Posted August 1, 2008 How is former NYCTA Museum 1961 GMC 5301 model bus #1059 doing? I have'nt seen it out on display recently at any Transit Museum Bus Fests. Does GM #1059 also have serious mechanical issues? And is it true that as of late last year its cousin Museum Bus 1963 GMC 5303 model bus #3758 also has been sidelined again for problems?
