Via Garibaldi 8 Posted December 19, 2013 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2013 NEW YORK (AP) -- The inspector general for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority says some foremen and repair crews at Metro-North Railroad repeatedly falsified time sheets and spent a lot of work time running personal errands. The New York Times says the findings are in a draft letter by Inspector General Barry L. Kluger. It details the actions of five foremen and three acting foremen from April to August. Their department performs repairs on bridges and buildings. It says one foreman filed for almost five days' pay for work that took less than five hours to complete. The report also says agency vehicles were used for drives to Pennsylvania to buy cigarettes and fireworks. Metro-North says it's worked closely with investigators and will aggressively take appropriate disciplinary action when it receives a final report. Copyright 2013 The Associated Press.
