TransitJusticeForAll Posted October 13, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 13, 2018 72nd Street (IND Eighth Avenue Line) is back in full operation after being closed for 6 months for renovation as part of the Enhanced Station Initiative (ESI) program. The station reopened last week Friday . It features new entrances with LED info screen, ceramic artwork “SKY” by Yoko Ono , and new gateway entrances. The station is located in the neighborhood of the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Central Park West. Out of all of the rehabilitated stations in Manhattan, this one is the most disappointing. Once again, there’s no USB ports on the side of the LCD info screens, some sections of the downtown platform was boarded up as well as the 71st entrance of the station. Lastly, this tour can’t be complete without some subway action. Please enjoy the station tour. Please subscribe to the Transportation Hub YouTube channel for more hot, fresh content.
