IRT Building

Where is this building at? I cant tell what bus is that looks like a 57..

 

And was this the original HQ of the Interboro Rapid Transit company?

It's on 11th Avenue between 58 and 59th Street. It's not an old IRT office building. It's an old IRT power plant that is currently owned by ConED.

oh, so what was it used for, the power in the IRT system, and is that building still being used?

That reminds me of the building at Avenue H (Brooklyn) on the (Q) Brighton Line. The architecture is similar, although the building is much smaller. I don't know if it's an old BMT power house, an old LIRR station house, or a switch tower for the LIRR/Brighton connection.
