Question on Conductor/Operator exam hiring process

After you pass the exam and your list number is reached, is the interview also evaluated as part of the hiring process? For example in DSNY, the only thing that matters is if you score high enough on the exam for your number to be called within the next few years. The interview there is more of a formality and not counted as part of hiring (you still have to pass physical and medical).

It’s more like paper work process and drug test and you go home and wait for a call/email back for Medical process.
