stephenjess Posted January 30 Share #1 Posted January 30 I'm doing some research into the Power Station recording Studio at 441 W 53rd Street in NYC, which is housed in a former substation. Most articles say the building was a former substation for the Ninth Ave El - and there is a substation on 53rd Street, but it's MTA substation #13 at 225 W 53rd St. Power Station is further west, between 9th and 10th Ave. Could it have been a substation for the West Side Freight line? If anyone has any info on resources to research how the Freight Line was powered, it would be very much appreciated.
