1927 Subway Bomb Incident

Recommended Posts

I have read on NYCSubway that there was a bomb incident affecting both the IRT 28th Street Station on the Lexington Avenue Line and the BMT 28th Street Station on the Broadway Line. A number of people were injured. Now, does anyone recall this incident or have access to a historical article for more information?

"Two bombs explode, one in the 28th St IRT (Lex Line) station and the 28th St (B'way) BMT station. "[The bombs] injured many persons, one of them it was believed, fatally." (NYT 8/6/1927)."

This occurred on 6 August 1927.

Nah. This was right at the peak of the "age of dictators" various countries around the world before WW2. Lot of people preferred no real government to the iron fist of one they had.

It somewhat had to do with the 1917 Russian Revolution. Since its success, anarchists around the world attempted to overthrow governments.
