Any one know the policy on booking sick before a holiday .. As in tomorrow but just one day
Wrong thread try off topic lounge
5:55 AM Anyway, all yards have been vaporized. How do you provide service to the system with late night trains? MWAHAHA

How well used are these ticket offices: Hempstead, Patchogue, Port Jeff? They seem to be awfully low ridership stations for staffed offices 7 days a week.
Hempstead: Major Bus Transfer.
Patchogue: end of the line for most montauk trains.
Port Jeff: trains are still fairly crowded past Smithtown, leading me to think Port Jeff is heavily used.

I just can't see why the R143s would go on a non-CBTC line (The in this case)

On the other hand, I'm surprised the waiting room is open far later than any station on the South Shore.
No one uses the south shore waiting rooms (ground level), everyone goes straight to the platform... maybe there will be 1-2 people in it.

I love biking. On nice days, I ride out from the middle of Queens over to Central park around the bike path in the park... Its fun and some good excersize, since half of the bridge is uphill and there are alot of hills in the park.
That's quite the ride, fellow biker

Biking is quite the excersise, especially when you're biking to the top of a refurbished dump! Merrick Mountain is the place.

They wouldn't take away the n81. It does better than the n80, plus these are minor schedule changes. They may actually add more n81 runs or convert n80 runs to n81.
hmmm.

Rush Hour: an M60 crashes into a support on the Astoria Line, leaving it unusable and as a precaution, trains cannot use Queensboro Plaza. Meanwhile, a terrorist threat in long island city means that the cannot use the respective stops south of queens plaza and north of the queens-brooklyn border. Reroute away.

Imagine of they add Sunday service. I would SMH at nice for putting Sunday n81. But I doubt nice will do that. I think it's just a small service adjustment
Yeah.. I really don't think they're will be sunday service on that route. Maybe it will finally be gone...

OK, I think it's about time some serious rules are laid down for this thread.
1. Only 3 scenarios can be posted within a 24 hour period. That's more than enough, and it prevents people from spamming scenarios for a high post count.
2. When solving a scenario, you must account for every train involved. Use calculated TPH (Trains Per Hour) levels and schedules for help. Also, make reroute that follow the track layout of the subway. For unoffical, but generally accurate track maps: http://nycsubway.org...bway_Track_Maps
3. Try to make the best reroute possible. Think of these situations as real. Try not to make reroutes that would confuse the average rider, but also try to provide the best service to every area. Avoid shuttle buses, as they can be scarce. Try to provide options from other lines. (For example, if 8th Avenue is shut down, try increasing service on the , , and .)
4. In situations where you have to add TPH to line, consider the rule than no track can handle more than 30 TPH at once. Also, do not simply say to put more trains on the line. There isn't enough equipment for that.
Also, for rating other members' solutions:
1. Be nice. Don't call them a foamer unreasonably.
2. Rather than just saying every single one of their solutions is bad and leaving it there, offer alternatives.
3. If they did a good job, compliment them!
4. Discusion is encouraged! It helps to enrichen this thread.
FInally, when creating scenarios:
1. Be realistic. Don't say things like "All of Manhattan is exploded." That's just unrealistic and outlandish.
2. Specify whether something is to be short or long term. It helps in solving.
3. Finally, specify time of day. This is not optional, as TPH varies through the day/week.
Most important, have fun!
NOTE: Foaming is frowned upon, as it increases the chances of this thread to get locked and it just makes you look bad. Try to stay away from it.
1) i never really saw problems with that
2) TPH is something that is more or less optional...
3-4) these are not really rules, but more of guidelines for newer posters
I don't really see any other problems with this, but hopefully this won't crash and burn...

Due to radiation, all lines must not go between 59 and 8 street.

I wonder what the n81 change is...

It was probably 664, the only PM train to skip Huntington. From what I remember this train used to run with 7 cars and 2 engines, but it was cut to 6 cars and 1 engine after 2010 cuts. I haven't ridden it in a while, but 6 cars usually did the trick. Once 662 is put back to Hunterspoint instead of Huntington 664 should be less crowded
Yep... but this only had 4 for what i'd seen

Honest question. I would like to know your reasoning as to why the B would get priority?
It would be a faster trip (better express acceleration) and plus the is part time

The and need some R179s, however, the is priority
