I just watched this on TV.
Service cuts coming to NICE buses with low ridership | 7online.com
It is about the changes. In the report, there is also footage of them wrapping the new buses.
The problem is nice promised the public no services eliminated, but on top of that they are creating more services.
One example is thee N22.
If NICE puts new service, then well this will be the following
N22: Local Service Between Hicksville and Jamaica
N22A:Local service via Roosevelt Field and Jamaica
N22L: Limited Service between Hicksville and Jamaica
N22X: Operates between Hicksville and and Jamaica Non-stop from Roosevelt Field to 179 street subway station
Thats just overkill for one route number, dont you think?

Is the terminating at 2 Avenue because of the track configuration south of W.4 street

I am asking for your assistance in obtaining written material because i live outside of the queens or the county
steve:cool:
I think you can contact NICE on this matter

This makes the whole system confusing and doesn't make any sense. How is this to fill the budget gap?
To be honest an n8 extension to Hempstead Transit Center would be a good option.I guess no one though of it, but the loop will make nice lose $. Let's say someone will get on the n8 loop at the first stop, they ask for a transfer at Macy's, instead of at the first stop. Then, that person shops for an hour. That person if smart will cross the street to take the n2 loop which will get him to the stop he/she got on. All in less than 2 hours. With the Metrocard transfer, you can use a transfer from one route to another. The problem is that there will be two routes copying each other and these people will spend less money by using the bus loop which will make nice lose money. Comments?

Conniptions. Conniptions everywhere.
The New n2 & n8 are bascially the same route. Why are they giving the same route different destinations. The only difference is that the n2 goes counterclockwise and the n8 goes clockwise. Joel do you think this n2/n8 will be confusing. The only routes I truly know are the n22,n6, and n19

How many tracks would be avalible?
The two express and local tracks have a rail condition. They all are usable except for the Northbound Express Track. However the tph is not going to hold all the trains. It wi over do the rails. Some trains can not pass because it would just make the whole line unusable for a period. Trains would also run at slower speeds
0 -
Define "limited space."
Not as many trains can pass as regularly trains would pass
0 -
What if there was limited space along Broadway because of a rail condition.
What would you do.

How about this?
The Broadway Line and 6 Av Line are both impassable at 23rd Street.
Expected duration: one month.
Be creative. Of course, be realistic (e.g. no bus replacement over any significant area, no single-tracking). Assume current frequencies of service.
This is my best:
The will make all local stops south of 168 street and North of 42 street
The ( will run south of W.4 extended to Coney Island via Brighton Express
The is suspended
The runs north of 34 street only
The will run local in Queens
The will run via 8 Avenue Local to W.4 street then route fully local to Coney Island (Stops on local tracks at DeKalb Avenue and at Atlantic Avenue)
The will be extended to Coney Island
The will be rerouted via 53 street 8 Avenue Local and along the Manhattan Bridge to DeKalb then Normal
The will terminate at Atlantic Avenue (Express Tracks)
The will operate in two sections:
Between Coney Island via 8 Avenue to Queens Plaza station
Between Queensboro Plaza train station and Astoria Ditmars Blvd
The will operate as a shuttle between Myrtle and Metropolitan Avenues

I would do the following
Normal Service
Lexington-125 street to Coney Island
Bay Ridge to 71 Avnue
Between Bay Ridge and Astoria

Since nobody appears to want to post a riddle, here's one.
A fire ignites in West 4th St station and the entire station is shut down for two weeks.
Try to run as many services through (i.e. not in two sections) as possible. Be creative. Of course, be realistic (e.g. no bus replacement over any significant area).
Under this plan all trains bypass W.4 street
The in both directions will run along the from Jay Street to 59 street as well as run local south of Bdwy Laffayette
The ( will run local along 6 Avenue and be extended to 205 street all times as well as terminating at 34 street
The will be suspended
The will only operate only between 34 street to Coney Island
The will terminate at 2 Avenue via 6 Avenue Express/53 street Local
The will run normal with selected trains running south of Kings Highway and selected trains running along the from Bergen Street to Court Square-23 street
The would operate between Metropolitan and Marcy Avenues only
Okay, so What if there was a big fire at 145 street burnt most of the station. What would you do.
*NOTE: The tracks are burnt as well

The QM9 from Spring Creek to Midtown via 3/6 Avenues.
The QM9 would take on the current BM5 route until Yellowstone Boulevard, which it will take the QM12 route until Midtown, where then buses go either via 3 Avenue to 55 street(2 Avenue towards spring Creek),OR 6 Avenue (5 Avenue towards Spring Creek) to 57 street
