1. don't know why I didn't see this post initially.....

    B1: yup...

B4: yup, but that's not all that needs to be done...

    B8: redundant/not necessary...

B16: I wouldn't exactly do it that way, but ok, for the most part....

B33: how would it get to av. X from bay ridge av ?

    B70: that's exactly what I did w/ it on my map !

    * Your whole B10/B19/64 thing confuses me.... mind posting the terminals for both routes ?
Didn't see your map with the B70.

B4: I know that's not all. But wanting full time service back to Emmons Avenue is wishful thinking, to say the least.

B8: How is it not necesary?

B10/64: Prospect Park Sta-Coney Island, combined with B64. (Via 13/14 Avs)

B19: Prospect Park Sta- Bay Ridge. (Via 13/14 Aves, 65 St & 3rd Avenue)

B33: Towards Sheepshead Bay: Bay Ridge Avenue > Bay Parkway > W.6 St > Avenue X

    From Sheepshead Bay: Avenue X > W.6 St > Bay Parkway > 68 St.

  2. Today, the Franklin Ave shuttle was operating from the SB platform @ Propect Park today, which means the train was running though the tunnel where that big wreck happened back in the day.

There was only one train running up and down the entire line, instead of two.

Cool to ride a train though that tunnel.

That was waaaay back in the day. 1918, to be exact! So, you rode on that notorious S curve. Scared at all?

  3. Pull out late? The fuel line is the ops pulling into the depot but waiting on line as the shifters move each bus through the fuel stations. Sometimes, at night, the line gets extremely backed up. We don't get docked; we get paid every minute we wait. I was on it for 41 minutes tonight.

    Ouch.

    LOL at your signature!

  4. Hey another proposal by a middle school kid in 'love' with NYC Buses. Don't forget (not to meant to break your heart three)is add in money and politics to the idea. Replies in red.
B10a/b: They start at Prospect Park. Combining with the B64 will save money, and the B1 is blocks away.

B33: This is an alternative to the B4, as MattTrain was complaining about. It will supplement the B4 & provide service to Bay Ridge Avenue.

    B65: I meant B63. Changed.

B8/70: The B8 will go an extra 4 blocks. How is that making the route too long?

    All other points, I agree.

  5. MY IDEA FOR SOUTH BROOKLYN:

    B1: Current routing.

    B3: Current routing.

    B4: Extra runs added.

B8: Full time to Shore Road.

    B10a (Or B10):Via 13 & 14 Avenue & Bath Ave to Coney Island. Combined with B64.

    B10b (Or B19): Via 13 & 14 Avenues & 65 Street to Sunset Park.

B16: Rerouted along Fort Hamilton Parkway between McDonald Avenue & 58 Street.

    B19: See B10a.

B33: Via Avenue X & Bay Ridge Avenue from Sheepshead Bay to Bay Ridge. (Taken partially from ConeyIslandAve7's signature.)

B36: Combined with B31. 7-10 extra runs added on weekdays.

    B64: Combined with B10/B10a.

    B63: Current routing.

    B70: Terminates as Shore Road.

  6. (T): To Norwood-205 St rush hours only. Other times take (H) or (I) to 125 Street for (T).

I might have gotten your signs mixed up. I don't have the color tan right now so hopefully Blue is just a good.

The second one is fine, but you may want to take another look at the first one. :D

  7. People's ignorance never amazes me...even though the bus destination sign tells you where the bus is going, not to mention the bus stop signs for NYCT routes, people still ask what bus it is and where it's going to...not to mention people who always have issues putting the card in the farebox when there's a diagram on top of the farebox as well as the front side of the farebox (not to mention by the door of the bus before you get on). Smh.

Is everyone just realizing that 85% of the human race dosen't read when they should?

  8. Can I request two destniation signs?

First 2: ALL BULLETS IN SAS SKY BLUE!

    Via 2 Avenue Local

(I): To Fort George-181 Street except late nights. Late nights use (H).

(T): To Norwood-205 St rush hours only. Other times take (H) or (I) to 125 Street for (T).

Second 2: ALL BULLETS SHOULD BE TAN WITH BLACK LETTERS!

    Via 10 Avenue Local

(I): To Fort George-181 Street except late nights. Late nights use (H).

(K): To South Jamaica-60 Street via Queens Blvd Express all times.

    THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

  9. (4)/(5) operate in two sections each:

    (5) runs Dyre Avenue-149th Street (center track of (4) level) and from 86th Street via normal route until end of Brooklyn service. For Brooklyn, transfer to (2) at any stop between 180th-149th Streets, otherwise transfer to (4) at 149th Street and then (6) at 125th, transferring back to (4) or (5) at 86th Street.

How is the (5) going to get from the (2) platforms to the (4) platforms at 149th Street?

  10. How does the (:) turn around @ Beford Park Blvd during rush hours? Layover on the middle track like at 145th? Relay on the Concourse Yard leads?

I never been up there during rush hours so IDK lol, been wondering this for a while now.

    Probably layover on center track.

  11. Thats was why I said the (7) would run R62/R142As mean while and later it would loose the R62s back to the (4) and look now the (6) instead of mixing R142A/R62As will just be R62As.

Please stop using run-on sentences. :P

It really wouldn't make sense for the (7) to have 2 types of cars in the first place. How large is Corona Yard anyway?

  12. Yeah I agree. But you know the (MTA) . I hope the R179 contract gets awarded this month, and the R46's get retired and SIR gets some R179's. Because the R46's only have a few more years till their scheduled lifetime is up, so why waste the money to retrofit them.

R211 will replace SIR R46. But as uncertain things are, we may see the R211 earlier or later than planned. Will the R211's also replace the R68's?

  13. Got this B/O on the B54 with attitude.

I got on the bus, and it was crammed, so I was right behind the sterring panel.

    Dialouge:

B/O: Are you going to do that the whole ride?

    Me: What?

B/O: You're snorting in my ear.

Me: I didn't do anything. Why don't you just drive?

B/O: Don't tell me how to do my job.

Me: Man, I didn't do anything to you. Do your job!

I moved to the back after that. Guy was a total douche! Any opinions?

  14. (4)(6) - No trains south of 86th Street

    (5) - To Bowling Green, via South Ferry (Old Loop) via (1) & (2) lines. Service frequency reduced to 15 mins.

    Increased service on M14, M23, M31, M66, M79, M86 crosstown buses as well as M101 LTD and M15 SBS.

You wouldn't short turn (4) Brooklyn trains at Atlantic Avenue?

If you don't, then the (3) should run to New Lots Avenue at all times.

    I also made other changes.
