  1.

Well, I figure it's about time I got ripped to shreds for proposing a bus route. Here goes.

B23. The original got canned. I figure let's extend it to provide more service as a subway feeder for the D and maybe get some transfers going southwest from Prospect Park.

    https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=202807188220210378870.0004d4388a0c93da0499d&msa=0&ll=40.630109,-73.982449&spn=0.078558,0.154324

B101. An old route number never used (Wikipedia says Pioneer bus lines proposed this number). I'm proposing a different route than the 70s proposal, but using 101 as it shares a terminal with the 100. Anyways, connection to the F train and B/Q for those living along Ave P, and service along Bensonhurst to Lutheran Medical Center.

B102. This will get destroyed by comments. Crosstown route, maybe take some pressure off the B35, provide service to Gateway Mall.

B110 Limited. Take over the route by MTA Bus. That whole "women sit in the back" routine should've lost PT their franchise months ago. I'm adding one stop in Downtown Brooklyn. Also, extending it to the bus terminal by the bridge in Williamsburg and down to Ave I F-train stop (a few extra blocks) at its southern terminal.

i think every route except the b102 could work, with the b101 idea i like the 65 st bus service,i think it should use 65 to 7 th av to ovington (west) and bay ridge av (east) to 3rd av,traffic under the gowanus is a nightmare during rush hour plus there is no sidewalk on that strech of 65th,also it would stop at is 30 which would have ALOT of students that have a better commute.

  2. My original proposal keeps S57 on it's route but it's taken off decker to use the bayonne bridge to newark airport. Newark penn is a bit far and extreme for S57 too many NJT lines going to newark penn not worth it for S57 get to the nearest hub and be done with it. To see the complete potential you will have to look out for future posts in the NJT forum as I will post NJ related stuff there. BUT I won't  take my completed plan there it's too huge. S66 stays on jewitt and just goes to brooklyn throwing away st george and grymes hill in favor of reaching the (N). It will have a greater impact than you realize. But fear not grymes hill will not lose service they will get 7-day service in the form of a brooklyn to st george route. Other potential routes can be used not just my original. S57 is not unreliable enough to make it an issue. Gothels service will be handled solely by NJT. under this plan.

woah!and i thought some of the brooklyn proposals were rediculous!s57 to newark penn, draw that on google maps then come talk to me...

  3. I'd make 81st Street, Manhattan an express stop, and I will add these following stations:

    (A) Beach 49th Street (Queens) Cross Street- Rockaway Freeway

(cool.png(Q) Neptune Av (Brooklyn) Cross Street- East 12th Street

    (D) Avenue V (Brooklyn) Cross Street- Stillwell Avenue

    (F) 5th Avenue-63rd Street (Manhattan)

    (G) Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue (Queens)

    (R) 2nd Street (Brooklyn) Cross Street- 4th Avenue

sorry but 2nd Street is too close to Union, although an (R) stop at Bergen might work?

  4. Thanks for the comments, guys. @Around the Horn: The column spacing is a symptom of the spline itself. Kitbashing my custom station items and other stuff from the DLS seemed to be the logical thing to do rather than create two separate custom stations, which would've taken a lot longer. The stations themselves can probably use some more scenery, but right now, I'm more worried about getting key corridors operational. I value your input though, and I'll definitely see what I can do about the spacing.

I've got a long shift at work tomorrow, so perhaps over the weekend I'll try to get the Upper West Side completed, to at least Harlem, and connect to the rest of the (2) in the Bronx. Next week's project will be the (1) and the 207 Yard.

kk,thtas cool just wanted you to know thought that was the reason.

  5. No, those are still a work in progress. The picture above is of a beta sign I'm currently testing, which is going well. For now, enjoy the link below. I have made those signs before, but that was last year before I knew about texture replacement and such, so I made a few dozen signs from around the subway system. You can use them now until I perfect the signs above.

A note to everybody else: I spoke to BStyles really early this morning (around 4am)--he's in Hong Kong and will be there for the remainder of the week, so you'll have to wait until sometime next week for Phase 1.5, which are the subway stations and terminals. Phase 1.75 will be the changeable overhead platform sign and the trackside sign that's featured above.

Thanks for your patience and I hope you're enjoying the new set. Is anybody having any lagging problems?

  6. Happy Thanksgiving everybody.

We at BDC, International are still forging ahead with a release date of tomorrow for the Subway Stations & Tunnel Kit, part I. As a reminder, just the subway tunnels and station variants will be available in the kit. You will have all the basic station set ups, listed below. Custom station add-ons, custom tunnel add-ons, signs, and signals will not be part of this first release. Remember, this is a Super pack, so things will be released in phases.

    Phase I Stations:

-1 Track: Normal, and without a trackside wall (for off-set stations)

-2 Track: Side platforms, Bypass station (Central Pk W) & Island platforms

-3 Track: Side platforms & Island platforms

-4 Track: Side Platforms, Island platform (normal express) and side/island combo [i.e. Penn Station or Atlantic Av on the IRT]

-6 Track: Local station (135 St on the B/C)

    Phase I Tunnels:

-Will include all 1T to 4T tunnel variations.

    Phase I Terminals:

    1T, 2T side, 2T island, 3T island, 4T island, 4T Island/Side

The custom stations are going through a texture overhaul to be more realistic, and those will be released a short time after these initial ones. Along with the tunnels, these station variants should be very useful in getting you started on a route and should provide a really great foundation for whatever you have in mind. Remember, custom stations are just that---custom, so they probably wouldn't be used all that often. The custom station list includes City Hall Loop, Essex/Delancey, Lex/63rd, Chambers St, 59 St IND, Hoyt-Schermerhorn and DeKalb Avenue. Sit tight for those.

Remember those dozen or so trackside signs I released awhile back? Well, wasn't it kinda annoying to look through a dozen signs to find what you wanted? Guess what? Now you don't have to do that anymore. Thanks to a breakthrough using Streadway's fantastic BDSES script, I've created a programmable sign that uses both a texture library and editable text for use in the NYCTA system. You choose what sign background you'd like (Speed Limit, ST, GT, Diverge, etc), and program whether you want the top or bottom value showing (some signs have numbers on top, some on bottom) and voila! Your sign is made! Below is a screenshot of the menu and some possibilities of what you can have. Where there is no editable text needed for a sign, you can set both speed limit values to blank. So, no more sifting through signs! Just plunk one of these bad boys down and you're good to go! This will be included in the Phase II release along with my revamped signals and overhead destination signs. The overhead sign itself is finished, it's just the texture library that's being worked on--I never realized how many different sign readings are in the subway! Enjoy the holiday, and look forward to that release tomorrow. There is NO specified time, though it will be before midnight, so keep checking back here, or subscribe to the thread for alerts and a download link.
