  1. 240st yard isn't ready to maintain NTTs it's not updated yet to be able to maintain it so we know the remaining R142As can't go to the (1). Even though westchester has been maintaining them for over a decade they likely will just run the R142As on rush hours or if an R62A has to go to the yard for a little bit then that is when we will see it. Besides if anything the (6) should just get the remaining 20 R62As as well to make it 400 R62As and then like you said have the remaing 50 R142As go to the (4) for 50 R142s that way westchester just maintains R142 and R62As considering both were made by bombardier. The way they are going if the Remaining R142As stay on the (6) they will might as well have retire first when its time for the R142As to retire considering how beat up they are especially since they are not even 15 years old yet.

I agree 6 line should get remaining 20 R62A for what reason? Anyone forgot. Times Square / Grand Central Shuttle R62A singles based out of Westchester Yard at least seeing R62A singles.

  2. The R142As would be rush hour only because they are now going to be the minotrity of the fleet so.They as well can be used as well if an R62A has to go to the yard due to problems or just be taken out to rest then an R142A can come out an replace it.

How about no one not talking about Westchester yard  can loan R142 Bombardier... I never see R142 Bombardier never ran on 6 line.

  3. When did R142A #7221  -#7225 . #7226 - #7230 went to Kawasaki rail car Yonkers facility to be retro-fitted to become CBTC? ( the next set to become R188 conversion.) Goodbye to R142A #7221 - #7225 , #7226 - #7230 heading to Corona Yard soon. Next to leave R142A #7231 - #7235 / #7236 - #7240 lol.  -_- Sawmp the R62A is around the corner.

  4. Ok. I Corona think handle 506 R188s can. R188 not may back return mainline to. Maybe MTA convert can handle cars more to. R142A called now R188 BTW. Why compare also to Bronx Queens with.

Ok. I agree with you. Then you know there 473 R188 options are pending.  370 option are pending i hope it Bombardier R142 from 239 street yard from 2 line i hope. lol.  guess. 370 cars to be converted to R188 i hope it Bombardier. I hope Kawasaki Rail car built 103 cars R188 new cars. When Bombardier building R179.. I am guessing. People who complain against R142 of 2 line should be converted to R188 next. I hope so.. It a guess.

    M60B: every 15 minutes

    Q69: every 15 minutes

Good news & bad news. M60A is good route... But the bad news is to create M60B. At least M35 have to be discountinued . Let M60B replace M35 that bad news. Say goodbye to M35. welcome M60B to replace M35.

  6. Think about Bronx bus route restoration... At least ... Bring back BX14. what else it might happen. Good news Country Club resident.. It 3 years Bronx bus route not been restored yet... Bx34 bus service been restored. How about restoring Bx41 to Wakefield 241 street to whereever. example. Restoring Bx39 . Clason Point to Gun Hill Road.. saying.

  7. What is the news where 2012 NOVA bus LFS articulated bus #5822 - #5840 which depot will it be transferred . Flatbush depot getting their delivery now #5323 - #5363. ( 41 bus). At least #5822 - #5840 ( 19 bus ) i am guessing 15% sure. Will go back to 100 street Depot..  Gun Hill Depot where else .. Will get their 2000 D60HF new flyer articulated bus back from 100 street Depot . remaining #5400 series. example : i'm sure i will  spotted #5425 later. 2 months ago I spotted #5425 running on Bx22.

  8. Thank you AV. Case in point, the 160 order originally included strip maps as well. Obviously that would only work if the cars were relegated to the A/C or the N/W lines. Since that's not the case and the cars are assigned to yards that serve multiple lines with very different routes, strip maps on the 160s would be worst than useless. Not so with the 188s seeing as they're likely going to stay on Flushing for quite some time.

Agree.. 1.. you said  R188 ' going to stay on Corona / Flushing for quite some time'.. it not 100% sure if R188 is thing to run on 7 line. Anyway R142A is 10 years old .. Or someone said wait until R62/R62A retire. As 1 , 3 , 7 line get the oldest fleet that R142.  As 2 , 4 , 5 , 6 line get new cars.

  9. He's overstating it. Remember, the 7 will need extra trains when it gets extended to the Javits center and I would guess the 'extras' would be used for service increases and then whatever is left is for maybe work trains.

Ok. You think can Corona Yard can handle 506 R188 cars & additional R62A??? If R142A were to return to it mainline... Will it be much more eaiser for Corona Yard that home of 7 line. Yes. There are handling 400 cars of R62A.. Corona Yard is in Queens a I.R.T divison. Not in the Bronx moslty IRT divison.. Corona Yard does not have space to handle 506 R188 cars or additonal set R62A.

  10. My guess would be that the 96 Novas may go to either ENY or MTA Bus while the rest of the 9600's could go to Ulmer Park. That's just my prediction but anything can happen

Best depot which MTA Bus will receive 1996 RTS Nova Bus from Flatbush Depot  that LGA Depot. At least LGA depot have too many former College Point Depot local bus route...  Guessing.

  11. Off - topic.... Nothing about R142/R142A.  How many R62A will be used as work equipment cars during summer.. Why make R62A a 5 car unit . As it was singles. When it used work equipment during summer... 1. I know they would prefer to used R62A for work equipment car during summer they have air conditoner. that it.

  12. Westchester will have to take care of the R62As now considering how good they were perfoming when on the (7)  now that the (6) riders wont have most of their NTTs the R62As have to perform so that there's not too much complaints from the riders.

    6 line will have 80 R142A cars make sense. As 360 or 380 convereted to R142A? & 146 or 126 cars New R188 cars.

  13. Maybe, but Kingsbridge already got their hands on #6007 so that might make sense.

ummmm. I hope not lol. kidding.  But will make it sense #6007 were go to Eastchester Depot . At least Eastchetser Depot have #6005 , #6008 & all other etc. But #6007 is missing at Eatschester Depot. Where is #6007 lol. You know i am kidding, Imagine if #6007 were go to Eastchester Depot.

  14. I just hope Westchester takes care of those 62As because the way they've maintained the 142As leave a lot to be desired.

Why blame Westchester Yard home of 6 line.. When some R142A & now R62A. does go to mostly 3 yards that 239 street yard home of 2 line maintenance only & same as Unionport Yard / East 180 street yard & mostly agree for 207 street yard overhaul shop i know.

  15. I agree with poor maintenance by Westchester Yard also. I ride all of the IRT lines every week and the ones that do have NTTs (2)(4)(5) don't have that problem like the (6) does. Even given the fact that each car has only 1 powered truck out of 2.

Wrong on R142 on 2 line. The only problem with R142 of 2 line. There strip map is rusty , strip map not fixed all the time , It does not work well when 5 line loaning R142 of 2 line. Problem with Strip map some cars is , strip map showing white color bullet proof or which direction showing, but the led screen not shown as other cars on strip map. That it.

  16. I got to say, Westchester Yard's maintenance is horrible. Their R142As look real bad, which is why I don't always like my R142A ride.

How about maintenance R142A on 4 line. I spotted many times Westchester Yard is loaning R142A of 4 line. That Westchester Yard do maintenance R142A only on 4 line. I did ride R142A of 4 line that Westchester Yard loaning to put on 6 line service.

  17. It works perfectly fine on the (6)<6> so I don't see the need for it...

Actually, another sign for the <7> was supposed to be (11) (as seen on the 62s), but since those side signs were only meant to show 1 digit so double digit routes became even more useless

It would be good for 5 line... You would see R62A would run 5 line. loaning a R62A ... Only a set.. During OPTO Dyre Avenue Shuttle late night time. As 6 line or Westchester Yard have right to loan R142 Bombardier of UnionPort Yard home of 5 line. Share same yard as based out that train yard.
