Not sure what ridership is any more on the 11C. It was fairly busy at rush hour the last time I took it. The weekend schedule is useless. Whoever takes it over needs to improve on it. Later weeknight bus service from the GW Bridge could help too. It used to be 8.45 when Rockland Coaches last had it.

Sorry for the long time in responding. NJT used to run the 171 every 10 mins I believe at rush hour. It was the Maplewood/Intercity Route 40 before NJT took over. I have an old timetable from 1981 posted here: http://njbus.blogspot.com/2012/12/maplewood-equipment-route-40-1981-this.html

NJT used to run a lot more service on the 171 until the Jitneys started running, I believe some time in the 80s. It used to run every 20 mins on Saturdays. I believe this is one instance where a private enterprise, although shaky, just ran a better business model than NJT by running smaller vans more frequently and less expensive along Route 4. I agree with many of the comments that they drive like maniacs, aren't necessarily well maintained. It would be great if they could get some new and safer equipment and perhaps even coordinate with NJT in that regard since there is an obvious market for this kind of service.
