  1. If it's feasible, extend it all the way down to Rockaway Blvd for an easier connection to JFK.
  2. I'm not sure if this idea has been tossed out there, but once SAS opens, how would a reactivated From Astoria to Bay Ridge via B'way exp and 4av lcl work? The will get its much needed help and passengers get their B'way service.
  3. Initially, but the problems in the Rockaways have been solved. Although I've never seen an R160 go down that way... yet.
  4. And wasn't most of the order going to be in 5 car sets before that was chaned?
  5. It's about time! Just last week I was on my way home from work and the smell from one individual so bad that our C/R was nice enough to keep both of her cab doors open to air out the car. I even thought about opening up the window behind my seat. Anyways, most of the time I would take a peek inside the cars I pass by and each car has at least one to two homeless individuals. And of course, they like to sit by the storm doors.
  6. I heard from somewhere that the was supposed to get a set of R160's but that didn't happen due to power issues at the Rockaways. But who knows? The and may get the new cars in future.

Expect delays on all affected lines including and trains.
  8. But not at the expense of potentially disrupting other lines in the process. First, you're going to have service disrupted at B'way Lafayette because of and trains squeezing in. Next at W4th and service slows because trains switching over to the 8 Av tracks. Finally, I'm pretty sure dispatch wants to handle 5-6 services running on 8 Av and CPW.
  9. Isn't that what cross honoring fares on the LIRR is for? Keep the and where it belongs. Passengers can go to the LIRR or take the / to Essex or Fulton Streets. Granted, it may be a longer trip with more transfers, but it's much better than rerouting entire lines.

  12. Interesting things that happened tonight: 1. The train that I got on at 42 St at about 11:40 (tail car was 9686 I believe) was going express to Forest Hills via the local tracks. 2. I got off at about midnight and right behind it was an train doing the same thing, but this was signed for Jamaica. 3. Five minutes later an arrived on the express tracks. This one was Jamaica bound. I didn't see any service changes or GOs happening at the moment so I thought funny that three QBL express trains in short succession arrived at this time of night.

  14. This probably has been mentioned before, but has Corona been installing full cabs on their R62As before they go back to the ? I'm a regular rider to Main St. and I've been seeing more and more full cabs on the ends lately.
  15. Although the cars are being made by Bombardier, we won't know what kind motors the cars will get until we get more info. They could have Bombardier, Siemens, Alstom, or any type of motor desired. Note that the R142s made by Bombardier are powered by Alstom motors.
  16. The R179 order is supposed to retire the remaining R32s which primarily run on the . The R211 will supposedly retire the R46s which run on the and .
  17. I agree not just because of that, but I think the really should be full length. This current order likely shows otherwise.
  18. An R160 isn't too rare, but an R46 ... haven't seen that since last summer.
  19. This is assuming 8 Ave is not affected south of W4th. Suspended. Runs in Two Sections: 1. From 205th to 144th. Select rush hour trains run express. 2. From Broadway-Lafayette to Coney Island. Runs via the from Jackson Heights to Queens Plaza then to Court Square on the then to Coney Island. Select rush hour trains run to/from 57th St. Myrtle Ave Shuttle. Select rush hour trains make express stops on Brighton Line.
  20. Having the skip Lex is a pretty bad idea. More so for the P.M. rush. I usually get on at 42nd in the morning and granted the trains are already packed as hell. It mostly clears up by the time I arrive at Lex, but It's usually standing room only bc of travelers headed to LGA or JFK. In the afternoon, I get back on at Jackson Heights and depending on headways at that moment, the trains are standing only or a few seats available. By the time the train gets to Lex and even 5 Av, huge crowds of people get on to make their way to either 42nd, 34th, or the Trade Center.
  21. I don't see how the needs to be suspended.
  22. It's been a while since I've seen R32s on QBL.
