  1. The southern portion is going to be using CIY equipment, so it's always POSSIBLE. More possible on the weekends when they aren't busy being used on the (B) ..... but on weekends they're running full length via the bridge so CIY is only contributing 4 sets. So no, don't count on it.

On weekends, the (R) will be rerouted via the Manhattan Bridge in both directions and I'm wondering if it'll be a part of Jamaica yard only at the time or by both Jamaica and Cony Island Yard

  2. Seems plausible to me. Nice to see the ole R46s back on the F. Though I wish they were in better shape. The reason I like the R160s is they're obviously in great shape and have quite a bit of giddyup. Those Jamaica R46s often have bucking, are creaky and just plain slow compared to the R160s. Still, nostalgia and all, I'm cool with it.

The ones from Jamaica are good. Though I do hear some squeaking. However, the ones on the (A), suck.

    According to this... http://www.thejoekorner.com/carassignments/index.html

After the (R) gets split in two sections, the Southern Portion of the (R) will use Coney Island Alstom R160's and the (F) will have 16-17 trains of R46 during Rush Hour...

...Now that roster isn't 100% accurate. (Actually it mostly is, but the (MTA) likes to change things at the last second :P ). Anyway, if you notice it says R160B-1 on the (R) only. Same with the (Q) . If the (Q) still uses Siemens, then the (R) will most likely as well. Also, I'm pretty sure Jamaica Yard will send some of its R160s back to CI (Likely 9198-9232) (until the (R) service gets restored), or CI won't have enough R160s to put on the (R) (It makes sense when you look at it, otherwise CI would be short on cars and JY would have all these extra R160s).

Like I said, its not 100% accurate. It also says the (G) is 100% R68 (No R68A, which is not true).

But i'm looking forward to those R46 (F) . It will be the old days all over again :) . (Now if only they would bring back the R32 (F):P ).

If that ever happens, I'll be a happy camper.
  3. I think this is the time to leave the RFW behind and move on. I don't care about the railfan window since the full width cab still allows me to see the front which I am still okay with that. Those foamers who hog the RFW should also move on from the railfan window. You leave the past behind and move on to the future.

    (sigh) Thank you!
  4. About the fare situation just roll with it for today. I know I'm usually on the strict side of imposing fare regulation, but if you put that cash on your Metrocard the MTA will get that money anyway.

And yes, the earlier C40LF's are not equipped with the LBSS system. Now that's a true C40 there.

LOL, those ads actually look great on the C40LF's. It's safe to assume these will become prevalent in the outer boroughs. If they're streaming in more revenue I'm all for it.

Already saw it today on a C40LF from CP. When I rode the 200s, it did have the LBSS activated.
  5. There wouldn' t be enough thats why the (L) got R160s to get extra service because the R160s couldnt handle it alone , there would have been a huge car shortage if the r32s had retired

One of the many reasons why I love R32s. They're saving us from having a massive car shortage.
