They do need B Div. 3/4 of my class went to B. My list # jammed me. I just happened to be they guy after the last guy to pick; then they simply said, "The rest are in A Div." It doesn't work like how you stated though. Your list # determines when you pick. If you have a lower than higher # (1 vs 2), you get to pick until they say they have to put x amount of people in A since not enough picked. DO NOT give up your appointed position as a T/O. Work through your first Div. and if you don't like the commute or what have you, switch after a couple years. Or, move and be close to where you most report out of.

What...? Did you mean to say you got forced into A and you declined and put your name back on the list that day? Clarify please.

Needless to say, I was looking for Ashton.

I was forced. It's all good though. I really was asking my classmates if they would switch. HA!!!

Tomorrow is my first day at P.S. 248. A Div. All day with the Union I hear.

I don't know if this has been said by anyone here, but please regard the following: This is my unsolicited advice to anyone going for T/O or any Operating position within MTA: Please, please, please have ALL of the documents they ask you to bring the first time and all times after. Not having them WILL jeopardize your chances of being processed further, i.e. hired. Also, please, please, please make sure your health is in order because the doc's WILL put you on medical hold for high blood pressure or diabetes or anything else that seems wonky to them. Eat right and find some sort of activity that develops your lung and heart capacities. DO NOT give MTA ANY excuse to not hire you. From the time you take the test, prepare for the job. You'll thank yourself 3 1/2 - 4 years later. If anyone has anything else to add here, feel free.

Best of luck to all who are going, gone and have made it through this process. I'm sure it's a little nerve racking for everyone. Especially when one doesn't know what's coming down the pipe. Even with the info disseminated in these forums, there's nothing like first hand experience.

list range 550-600. going for medical and interview 2/8/13. so quick. i thought it would be a few weeks.

It's annoying they wouldn't just tell us we needed that up front. A half day spent at the ss office could have been done prior. Try remembering supervisors, jobs and dates from 20 years ago....It was cool though. You get to experience & see the process first hand. As opposed to reading about it on the forums.

Not to hijack this thread but how is the parking, in general, around the all locations where training is held? Just wondering because after making it past processing, I want to know if I have to take the subway or drive.
