I spent more time in Long Island than NYC.

There are few former LIB drivers are still working for NICE Bus. Cindy was best MTA/NICE Bus driver and she was vice-president of Coalition to Save Long Island Bus and bus driver member of LIBRU.

In the last example, Route 16 Dexter bus operator jumped out of driver's window, unclear if he/she helped in the scuffle that was going on, either to detain the woman or to aid the stabbing victim. Perp did turn herself in, and is facing life in prison. Plus she wasn't a stranger to the criminal justice system.

 

Just a few examples of how customers view the DDOT bus system. Operators blame the customers, yet follow no schedule. Customers are already on edge because buses show up whenever they want to, leaving them with trips across town into the HOURS to complete. DDOT transfers are good for 4 hours, SMART for 3, but for around 12 hours on weekdays, and all times on weekends, DDOT is the only way around within the city. (SMART does six main thoroughfares, but not complete local service on them, during weekday AM & PM peak. So outside of those six routes, DDOT is still the only way to get around.) REMEMBER: This type of service has gone on for decades, and even with the city losing hundreds of thousands of residents, bus service has not changed.

 

It is a very RARE occurrence on SMART buses to have fare beating. Operators may give the odd transfer out to someone who doesn't have a quarter, but even DDOT riders who use SMART know not to play with the operator.

NICE can't even run its system efficiently, and you're telling me they don't need it. If the bus riders can't afford it, then too bad. It was worse in NYC before. You never got any transfers, and you had to pay an extra fare to take another bus, or the train.

All I am saying is do not raise the fare, I think nice can afford to do maintence without fare hikes, how about nice stop collecting profits and operate & make zero profits & keep bus fare the same affordable price, the $2.50 cash fare I pay is a record high. I never have been to the Hempstead transit terminal, since it's dangerous & dirty what can nice bus do to clean it up? Doesn't nice own the 165th & Hempstead terminals?

165 street are really that dumb nice does not own the terminal in Jamaica Mta does such as the one in Mineola.Nassau owns Hempstead terminal I doubt they would have a meeting in the middle of such a busy terminal.Having the meeting is more convenient at Mitchell field for them.Hey while I am at it why dont I see any recent libru meeting on YouTube I like to see what there up to.btw piney caught 1608 broke down in Hicksville and told a nice supervisor that MTA is better he is hypocritical of nice and other long island towns and the MTA.

I think LiRR riders should switch to nice bus for there ride home, it's a free transfer from the subway in flushing ( 7 train) or Jamaica n4. It's a win win & the buses ride good like a limo.

Nice Bus only can print out MTA Paper Transfer because MTA owns farebox, paper transfer and MetroCard.

If you eliminate MTA Farebox for NICE bus, lots of NYC subway/buses riders will be upset. It would become like Suffolk County Transit buses, which you had to paid for 1 fare for 2 bus rides, then paid another $2.25.

NICE Bus really needs MTA Farebox or passengers will ending up spending more money than $2.75/$2.50 every day.

Then again what happens when MTA phases out the metro card.I am not in favor of scan and pay technology that is on many buses on the nice bus system.Same goes for the lirr if the phase out the ticket system.
