They didn't look at my stuff until I got medically cleared. Either way, go and do it all. If u don't have your social they'll just tell u to come back when u have it. If u need to replace it, the soc sec office is really close by. Only takes about 2 weeks til u get the new one.

Good to know and thank  goodness, I found it again. That is one burden off of my shoulder.

Also I forgot to ask, does anyone know if you've already been fingerprinted by the NY Department of State whether the MTA still want to fingerprint again? Mine is already registered when I did my security license.

  2. Anyone know if they'll let me defer the day of my medical (tomorrow)? I can't seem to find my Social Security card and it looks like I may have to get a replacement.

On another note, do they check your documents if you're on medical hold? I'll probably be put on hold for my 18" neck anyway

I would try to go to any pulmonary dr with the soonest available appointment to try to get it taken care of ASAP.

Yea, my doctor called me back that they have one ready for me to pick up tomorrow. I'll probably still be on hold as I complete the test, but hopefully I'll have the documentation to be taken off it before the end of next week.

  4. Damn, I may be put on medical hold. I have an 18" neck and my pulmonologist is taking too long to assign me a sleeping test device (all loaned out to other patients). I am going to assume I'm going to get one from the MTA doctor anyway at this rate. Hopefully, I'm only on hold for a week or two...

    how long was the medical?

From what I read it depends on how many show up and whether you gotta wait in line with people doing PE, but when I go in on Monday, I'm going to try and show up at 6AM to beat everybody else.

Email for medical was send out . I got my email for Thursday for medical

Do you mind if  you post your list #? It would give an idea of where we are at.

  7. Well, whatever snafu they may have had with you, at least it seemed to have cleared up. Can't imagine they'd skip your list # when it comes to the medical. Plus on the bright side, at least you didn't have to take two flights to NYC to do the piss test.

I'm not even sure if I will make it into the August class at this rate. As the days go on, I think I'll get into the September/October class. I would not be surprised if you either make it late this year or early in the next. And with people up to 16XX getting called for their second PE, I'd be very surprise if more classes are not scheduled.

So I could defer after medical is done? I really don’t want to miss this opportunity but I had booked a vacation right before I got called for my second PE and since it was more then six months since my first PE,  I really didn’t think they were going to call me so fast.

I see you wrote you're 13XX and have a vacation in September. Chances are you'll probably be called back in for a class after that. Especially if mid 1100's might not get into August with all the medical holds abound.

  9. Oh well. In the meantime, I am going to go to a doctor and check myself for sleep apnea, high blood pressure, and anything else the medical asks for. At the very least I can have papers/medication that show I have it under control so I don't get put on hold myself.

  10. If there are sixty spots per class, it sounds like I will be called in for September if they schedule it. This would actually be better for me to smooth out my transition from my current job.

I hope the reorganization that Cuomo managed to pass doesn't affect things anytime soon though.

  11. Yea, I gotta admit, even I knew about this forum from way back when, but I totally forgot when I was called in on November. I wish I had remember too. When I didn't hear back after my first PE, I thought I was SOL until I got the second PE letter last month.

I called Mrs.Vargas today to follow up. She mentioned letters went out today. I asked what class I might be considered for if all goes well and she said "hopefully" August. No guarantees though. Five minutes after I hung up, I got the call to go in this Monday for 2nd pre employment. List # in 1400's. Good luck to all!

Wow, that would be amazing if that's the case. As far as I read here, 9-102X have been called so far for the July class. I'm 11XX so if even 14XX can get in for August, then I should hear back soon for medical...

I chose the B division. They tell you B mostly has report locations in queens/brooklyn while A is mostly Bronx/Manhattan. If you luck out enough times you can get a job out of the queens division. Jamaica Center on the E,J. 71st Continental on the R,M. 179th on the F. Jamaica Yard  or ENY yard.

This is great and interesting to know. I had plans on moving and staying in Queens, but it seems if I get into B, I'd be better off moving to Brooklyn and the Bronx if I get in the A.

  14. The superintendent had mentioned that in the first week it was a pass/fail to climb aboard the train and to lift a 200 lb coupler adapter. I would think it's safe to assume that we get to practice and familiarize ourself beforehand right? Thanks. In the meantime, I am starting to dead lift weights for the time being.

I'm 11XX and been through the piss test twice now. I'm guessing if 10XX have been called up for the July class right now, then I'll be getting to the medical in time for the fall it seems.
