Hello everyone, For those who made one of the first two classes, would you mind providing some insight on how the job is now that you've been working for some time now. Is it back-braking labor? Some hard days some slow? Hows your hours and days off and how are the benefits and such? Is there any stress involved or is it do your job for the day and come to work the next? Any info would be great!

Thanks for that clarification dp142 I was under the impression that a CDL was a huge plus even for a new guy, but thank you for explaining how it works, i value your words

When your in training or even after training, do they ask if you have your CDL, meaning do they need guys who have it? Or when would it be a time to say hey i have my CDL, abd who would you tell?

According to HR, today, the have filled up all vacancies for the may 18th class. Last person hired was 261

Yeah, only went in for drug test though, first one in january, then another one april 8th, just havent gotten the call for final processing, but im in the 280s and ms robinson said they are up to 240s for final processing and she said they are still calling people, hope i get that call

Just called ms robinson, she said the last list number called in to final processing was in the 240s

Whenever i call HR, they're always vague in what they say, and they won't even give an approximate list number of the most recent person who got called for final processing, guess patience is key

Thanks for all the great info. As for the dates for previous employers, if you know the month and year you were hired, but not the exact day of the month, do you think that would be good enough ?

Yes i asked, they said the dont know for sure, but the women said she personally thinks it should be soon since they're sending out 2nd medicals

My first letter was in january and i went in on jan 20th. so i guess 90 days from then would be in about 2 weeks. This letter says to come in next week, and i called on friday when i first received the letter and she told me that i have to come in because if they do decide to put another class my first drug test wouldnt have been valid hence why theyre making me do it again.

Whats up guys, just a heads up, i got a second letter in the mail today (which was the same exact letter as the first) to come in for another drug test, (guess my first expired), HOPEFULLY this means they are trying to put in another class. My list number is above 250 but below 300 for anyone who was wondering.

I wonder if everyone passed or usually passes the training

Honestly, none of us really know anything. We have no idea when the next class is going to be, how big its going to be, or what list # they're going to get up to. Any estimate is probably going to be inaccurate. MTA human resources told me that they dont even know when the next class will go in. When the MTA needs more track workers, they get a call from some "upstairs" and they are told to start processing more candidates, and no one knows when that will be. All i can say is that as of monday, the first training class is officially over, and that the rep from human resources said historically they have indeed put more than one class in per year.

157 was the last list # to make the first class. But im in the 270s and i got a letter for my drug test back in january, but they didn't reach my list number for the first training class

This is the last week of training for the first class am i right? Hopefully they start calling for the next soon !
