I had 4 wrong on 4600...is this good?? I havent begun the process in getting my CDL at all because id like to see my list number first...and because im not exactly quite sure if 4 wrong will get me a call. Thoughts?

Alright thanks guys I feel better about it lol...how long is a typical bus route? How many routes in a day? All this is such valuable info to me lol

Quick question, what happens if you are not originally from NYC, get hired by MTA but dont know the streets of NYC too well? I know your given a route to drive and that route sometimes changes...im sure youd need decent knowledge of the streets before hand? Have there ever been csses of MTA bus operators getting lost out there? That would be a disaster id assume....

Thanks for the replies..for anyone on the job right now if you dont mind me asking, how is the job overall? Do you ladies and gentlemen like it? Hows the pay? Able to afford a home etc etc? Would appreciate an overall glance at the profession and get a better idea of whats it like to be a bus operator!! Thanks! !!

Sure technically speaking everyone who passed with a 70 and over is "in the mix" but MTA wont hire everyone. Realistically speakin, those who get a perfect score or close to it will only be reached on the list, considered, hired or DQ. with 4 questioms wrong im im not sure MTA will go that far down the list...any thoughts?

Haha bro that was exactly my circumstance aswell! Parking was horrrrribleee and on top of that it was pouring....I also parked on Nostrand ave and got a ticket aswell for not paying the meter (was in a rush so i dumped my car and bolted)....i was in the red Navigator if yea noticed lol. Anyways I hope all did well!!!

Anyone know a good place to practice BOSS type questions? The BOSS is tomorrow and would just like to further brush up! thanks

Hey guys! I am taking the BOSS exam on Oct 4th, is there anywhere I can go to get sample questions just so I can get a decent grasp of whats to come? I understand it will be more of a psychological exam with questions given multiple times but worded differently. Can anyone suggest a good place to practice? Thanks.

Hi guys, receive my admission letter for the BOSS exam yesterday. It says the boss exam is simply a questionnaire and wont be used to dictate your list number. Whats the whole point of the BOSS exam then? Is it to show the MTA we are mentally capable of driving their big buses in NYC? BTW, I got 4 questions wrong on the exam, I am a bit bummed out because I feel I could have done better. Is 4 questions wrong, a score of 93.3 good enough to get the call? Help!

DueceDrives, I took the exam on the Saturday PM session. I got 4 questions wrong. ..I wouldve liked to have done a bit better though. Ill make some calls and findout the info, will report back here. Any of you guys protested questions?

Hey guys. There was a protest session for 4600 a few days ago to protest the questions you got wrong...Unfortunately I wasnt able to attend, it says I can protest through mail within 30 days, problem is I dont know where im suppose to do this..on the website or do I have to go the main office? Where can I find a copy of the exam to protest? Any guidenace would be appreciated thanks a ton guys. #goodluck4600

So you guys are suggesting getting the CDL license before hand? I dont even know where to start....I know NYS DMV has a CDL section on there website, but how would someone learn to drive a bus with an instructor to help....is there a bonified school for stuff like this? Im assuming so.

Thanks guys. But theres got to be a cutoff interms of how many people they will hire off the list. I dont think the person who scores a 70-80 will will have a shot because the city will just never get to that list number within 4 years. If 30,000 people took and passed the test there is no way the city will go thru all 30,000 applicants... theres got to be a score/list number cutoff....with that said anyone know how many people applied for 4600?
