  1. Wow that seems like a major no no. Is there any way that could've been avoided? I assume so.
  2. I'm definitely going to keep you posted when and if that takes place next month. Thanks trainman happy holidays.
  3. That sounds great Depmaze. The liberty of being by yourself. What line were you operating this past week? I'm sure the more repetition you gathered the easier things will be for you. I'm sure you'll stay away from platform duties. Happy holidays man take it easy.
  4. Hey Depmaze, How was Monday and the rest of this week for you so far as a official Train Operator? I hope all is going well for you!
  5. I greatly appreciate all the information you have shared. I will definitely take this serious when the opportunity presents itself. I'm so happy to speak with someone who just made it through school car. I hope to live through your experiences soon enough. Again, thanks for the prompt responses and good luck on Monday!!!
  6. This isn't the first time I've heard about needing to get a 100%. However, I didn't know that you could get fired if not obtained. I will be sure to study the signals and any other information provided. Were you tested weekly on signals and if not how often? How many questions on an average test? Multiple choice or answer a question? Lastly how did you maintain the pressure of knowing you couldn't get less than a 100% and retaining the all the information?
  7. Congrats on a successful training. I definitely hope to follow in your footsteps sooner than later. I'm list number 340x and I'm currently awaiting to take my full medical. I'm just keeping in good shape and spirits until I'm called back to complete my full medical and begin my training. Keep in contact and let us know how Monday goes for you!
  8. Hi Depmaze, Thank you for posting the information above. It makes better sense now and I guess that's the only logical way to proceed with hundreds of people that have the same grade.
  9. Hi Matt, I haven't heard word about the next class. I last spoke with an Human Resources representative last week and she asked that I call back towards the end of December to obtain an update potentially on the next class. As for how duplicate scores are organized on a civil service list, your guess is as good as mine. Stay well.
  10. Thanks for the update Breaker. Greatly appreciated.
  11. Hey Matt, If you haven't been contacted yet you could contact DCAS at 212-669-1357 but they'll inform you that you need wait until contacted via mail. Once you receive a letter from MTA to visit their office to take the drug screening that's when your process will officially begin. All you can do now is wait until contacted via mail either DCAS or MTA. I believe the latter will contact you first though.
  12. Hi MTAhopefulMatt: Outstanding Certification: Your name has been requested by the respective agency for potential hire. Not Outstanding Certification: Your name was either send back to DCAS because they didn't reach you during your Outstanding Certification period or you never were classified under Outstanding Certification status to begin with. Once MTA gets the number they need for potential hire (next training class) they'll will inform DCAS again and then you'll return to Outstanding Certification status.
  13. That's great news Breaker03. Congrats on clearing your medical hold. I know that's a big weight off your chest. Please keep up posted on any updates you receive about the class. Hopefully your wait is boo longer than early to mid January. *correction* Hopefully your wait is no longer than early to mid January.
  14. Andrew many thanks for the health advice. I will be sure to take your advice. MTAhopefullMatt, no problem anything I can do to share information is what I'm here all well as everyone else. I too hope my medical doesn't expire but in interim I will follow Andrew's suggestions moving fwd.
  15. Hi guys: Here's a follow up to the update I posted yesterday. I spoke with Michelle Vargas of Human Resources and she informed me that the December 1st class is already filled with 30 candidates. She asked me to check back with her towards the middle/end of December to find out when the next class will be available. As of today the last appointed is 3,318 and that will remain the same until the next class becomes available. If the next class is available after 90 days from my October 22 laboratory (urine test), I will have to take the laboratory again. I hope that's not the case not because I won't pass but I just wanna hurry up and complete the physical without beginning the process over. That's all I have for now. If anybody hears word of the next class in 2015 please share this information. Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi guys: I just spoke with an HR representative today and they informed me the last number appointed for hire was 3,316. That doesn't account for where they're with contacting individuals for full medical but my list number is 3,40x and I'm still waiting for the follow-up call to take my full medical. FYI, this 3,316 last appointed for hire was just 3,137 as of Friday November 14th. So just be patient guys as I am myself, hoping for the best.
  17. I definitely will notify you once I take my medical.
  18. Sorry, I don't know the exact number. Only information they give over the phone that is the last list number hired which was 3,137. However, I'm list number 3,40x and already took my laboratory for HR and I'm currently awaiting a call back for my full medical. I hope that information helps.
  19. I'm list number 340x, so I'm pretty closer.
  20. No problem Treweis44, thanks for the update on your end!
  21. Hi Matt, Sure the telephone number is 347-643-8231.
  22. Here's an update for aspiring train operators. I spoke with a human resources representative via telephone this afternoon and they informed me that they're up list number 3,279 with respect to people who completed their laboratories and awaiting full medical and final processing.
  23. No problem. Hang in there, your time is almost here.
  24. Hi Trainman, Here is what I've done so far. On October 22nd, I came down for the interview and urine test and left with a 21 page booklet that I've since completed. They asked me to leave my cell phone number with them on the letter that was originally mailed to us. Today makes 11 days since my first visit. Trainman, My pre employment letter was dated October 15th and that letter invited me to stop by 180 Livingston on October 22nd where I completed my urine test and left with the 21 page booklet.
