Hey guys how was that overview today? Overwhelming
dont worry that’s nothing like phase l
my best advice is that you guys put everything into index cards and make sure you check you wrote the signals indications and definitions exactly word for word.
Thanks for the advice. My overview is tomorrow and then it's Go time.

Anyone else going to the S&D Overview on 7/16? I've been using the time wisely to get stuff done to free up as much time as possible for the five weeks.

S&D Overview 7/14
Good luck guys!Congratulations! I'm at the 7/16 s&d. You're going 7/14? I guess they're running two simultaneous s&d's.

I attended the 6/1 open house and I'm invited to the 7/16 S&D Overview. Good luck to you!

From what I hear now. 3 guys failed at the halfway point. Failed one of the tests and the retake. It’s not about the lifestyle or being on time.
This is what scares the heck out of me. I'm going to give 100% to the end, but my fear is quitting my job only to fail out of phase 2 six months in.

So, the passing rate for phase 2 is approximately 60%. If someone makes it through phase 1, is it safe to say that they have the skills to also make it through phase 2? Trying to figure out why the failure rate is so high high for phase 2. I know that some candidates simply can't hack operating a locomotive, while others make find the life style unbearable (although I would hope they knew this going in). But is PC, special instructions, air brake so much harder than BoR that it blows phase 2 candidates out of the water?

Any body from the 6/1 open house called for S and D yet?
Not yet. This is nerve wracking.

Don’t be surprised. Out that whole group about 10-12 will pass the S&D test
Out of those 10-12, how many will typically make it through Phase 1? Phase 2?

I also passed the exams and got the interview. There were so many candidates! I was terrified when they started calling names and mine wasn't mentioned, but those were the candidates who were dismissed. The interview went well and the interviewer told me to watch my inbox for an S&D invite. Was that a standard line or was I being told that I'm moving on?

Thank you. To you as well. You're just starting the process?
Yes, I've been applying for many years and I'm invited to the June 1 open house.

I applied for the following posting, the 4/1- 89676, 11/17- 92039 & 4/18-93100. and received my invite on May 11. So I was surprised that I heard back quickly, but I noticed one of the attachment in the invite email had the 92039 posting attached, so my wait was around 5 months.
My invite had the same attachment. Congratulations on the open house. I've been applying much longer than you so it's hard to say how much of the invite is resume, needs or just luck. From what I read, they get thousands of applicants for the posting, so make the most of it.

Took this test about three years ago and the cognitive got me . So that's why I'm asking. Not to cheat . There is no way to cheat this test and that's not what I'm about.....
That's a good sign that they're inviting you back after three years. Are you a current employee? Try to be accurate with the cognitive.

Being in phase 2 now and have completed all interim requirements and what I know so far. Everytime a class qualifies a new phase 2 is already in class. About 3-4 weeks in. Next qualifying class graduates in August. And I'm in the next graduating class which is sometime in December. After my class there's 2 more classes. One that's 4 months in and a new phase 2 class that started a 3-4 weeks ago. Good luck everyone. Keep studying.
Glad to hear your moving along, Dre. You haven't been here in a while. Is everyone that started in your class still there?

Just wondering, according to the current posting: "Upon commencement of Phase 2, current LIRR employees will officially transfer to the position of Engineer Trainee."
Doesn't phase 2 commencement lead to engineer or is there more training after that?

I'm pullin' for ya, Republic. Good luck this time around.
Thanks, but it wasn't me. I'm still waiting...and waiting...and waiting

Thanks, RT. I hope you get called for Phase 1 soon, as well.

Hey mrm, I was there yesterday, too. Are you as overwhelmed as I am? The only thing keeping me sane is that everyone reacts the same way in the beginning, but manages to get it done. I also have 135 signals.
