  1. I drive basically all of the ones from my depot. My depot has the 12,13,15,16,20,26,28,31,32,44,48,76.
  2. I just picked for this pick at my depot. I don't have any of the Q32 so I am avoiding Manhatttan lol.
  3. Everyone gets 2 RDO a week. It's the same as basically any other job. Like say u work for UPS or something and you work Monday thru Friday. Saturday and Sunday would be your rdo in that scenario. RDO just means your 2 days off your scheduled for that week. As far as the pay questions..... if your sitting at the depot waiting for a run, it's called being on report. And yes, you get paid for that. You get paid the same hourly wage sitting on report as you would if you were driving. If your hourly wage is 22.69, that's what you would get paid sitting on report, and if you were driving you would be getting 22.69 an hour as well. As far as the different pay for which run you are doing... you get paid your hourly wage for whatever your doing, a full bus or an empty bus means nothing to you. One of the only times your hourly wage will differ is when you are driving an artic bus, which you would get $1 an hour more added to your hourly wage for each hour you are driving an artic. Oh and yes I used 22.69 as the example because that's what you start off making.
  4. Overtime isn't by seniority. It has to do with hours worked or something. I forgot exactly I'll get an explination. That's overtime tho, like working an rdo or a double. It's not run pay ofcourse. Obviously the senior guys will get the bigger runs lol. The Q44, lol, I operate that line often haha. Referring to how Stengel does it atleast lol By the way I saw a training bus out of Casey Stengel a few times this week, anyone here on that bus?
  5. You can not switch Queens depots every year, that is incorrect. You get one transfer after arriving in Queens and only one transfer. For instance say if you wanted Queens Village but it wasn't available, you can go to Casey Stengel or Jamaica until QV is available. Once QV is available, if you accept it that's it your in QV the rest of your career. Just used QV as an example, same goes for the others. Staten Island I am not sure about.
  6. Do what I do when someone complains about you stopping at yellow lights.... drive slower and take extra long at bus stops. After a minute or two of driving slower and and a few long bus stops they will get the point and shut up lol. And if they are complaining and standing in front of the white line when they are complaining, tell them to move behind the white line. If they refuse, then you simply refuse to drive. It's your bus, your job is to get to the end of the line safe, them getting to work on time is not your problem.
  7. No clue lol. That's above my pay grade lol. Which depot are you at currently? No clue lol. That's above my pay grade lol. Which depot are you at currently?
  8. Yo Bklynstyle congraduations man, I'm glad you made it thru probation. I worked with u at Jackie Gleason for a while, transferred to Fresh Pond, now I am at Casey Stengel. Congrats man. For all the guys in line training.... get used to working long runs. The reason your getting such big runs is because you are working with senior operators and they get the big runs. Once line training is over you won't get that many big runs like that. Also for your late slips ( cut slips or deviation slips) whatever you want to call them, I advise you to OTO them all so you get more time that you can take off during probation. Just my advice.
  9. Deucedrives. U were in the 8/22 class right?
  10. You don't pick depots until day 11 Or it might have even been 12 lol
  11. Gleason has 14 lines total. 4,8,9,11,16,35,37,43,61,63,67,68,69,70. Their main line is the 35, one of the heaviest lines in the whole system.
  12. The Brooklyn depots that are closest to Staten Island are Jackie Gleason and Ulmer Park. Gleason is in Sunset Park, which is not far at all to the bridge, while Ulmer Park is in Bensonhurst. I started at Jackie Gleason and was there for 4-5 months, I then transferred to Fresh Pond and was there for one month before my transfer to Queens finally came thru. Gleason was a great depot, and most of their routes are good. I left due to it being too far from where I live, which is in Queens. If you have any questions about the depots feel free to private message me.
  13. U can get hired with an accident on your record. If you have too many then no. One fender bender shouldn't be an issue. A buddy of mine on the job from my class had 2 accidents on his abstract, one in his car and one with a cdl vehicle form his previous job, and he was hired.
  14. This is incorrect. If you have 5 points you will not be offered the job. 4 points is the maximum you are allowed. If you are facing 5 points I advise you to fight the ticket. If it's 4 or less you are good.
  15. I was operating the Q20 today and I saw a training bus in Jamaica,Queens today. I think it was on Archer Ave or sutphin Blvd, forgot what street I saw it on. Was that any of you guys in here?
  16. I'm pretty sure oto and Ava days don't have to be made up. Sick days do. Are transfer to queens via seniority? Reasoning I am asking is because I put in for transfer during orientation back in August but haven't received a transfer paper yet while a buddy of mine who was in the November class received paperwork for his transfer. Why would he get it before me when I have 2 months seniority over him?
  17. Are transfers into queens done by seniority?
  18. Why are u showing us that? That's the contract from 2014 which expires in a few days lol
  19. What Brooklyn depots were available out of curiosity
  20. Went to fresh pond to check out the depot as I picked in there for this pick. Saw a training bus pull in at like 4pm. Hope everyone did well.
  21. Don't stress pre trip. It's more important for the DMV road test, if you only have the cdl permit and need to take the DMV road test. Just call out whatever you see, no such thing as pointing out too much. The airbrake test means the most.
  22. Yea gray is big on the 4 feet of space. If you get too close to the parked cars she will trolley brake your ass quickly lol.
