    Hey everyone

I come bearing news from a few schoolcar TSSs last week that there will be another class of 50 train operators/conductors before the end of the year. They said they should be expecting medical calls by late July/early August. The classes will be much smaller due to Covid 19 in the traditional sense with the same amount of TSSs. Hopefully this budget crisis the MTA keeps talking about doesnt interfere with this information. Best of luck.

Man that sucks. Small class and only 1 more before the end of the year??? Guess I will have to wait a long long time /cry

I didn't know the list was published until I got my letter in the mail. It's not an issue for me to stop. I'm finished until it becomes recreational in NYS and jobs stop testing for it. Might happen this year or next.

I'm just wondering the possibility of getting called within the next 4 weeks. When do they start going down the 8600 list? Are they finished with the 3600 list? I should be clean in 3-4 weeks. Just trying to figure things out.

    3600 list expired.

i would guess since they are sending out list numbers and 8600 is now established, they intend on calling some ppl in for pre employment.

With your list number being so low you should be one of the first to get a pre employment letter.

Now I don’t know when they will be sending those but I could guess and say you won’t get a reporting date no earlier than the middle or end of February. Just a guess. That’s if they even plan on calling people right away.

Hey guys. I have a question about drug tests. I smoke cannabis pretty regularly, and was planning to stop as soon as soon as the list was published.

My list number is in low double digits. I'm worried now that I won't have enough time to detox before I have to get tested. I don't plan on smoking again. But having smoked a lot this weekend has my stomach doing somersaults.

I should have about a month or two before they start pulling from this list. Right? And even if I get called and go down to Livingston - do they test right there? I'm kind of freaking out here.

List was established on the 8th, if that was your  last day smoking, you should be good. STOP smoking period, this job is more important.

Also if you think you might still have it in your system when they reach you for pre employment , just defer when they call you and then reinstate your name back on the list.  But seriously man stop smoking lol.

And yea when you go fro pre employment, they do a drug test after you hand them the paper work you have to fill out.

Any idea of how long they give you to respond/show up for the next step once you have been contacted the first time ? Example: If and when I receive a letter / email indicating my number has been called, how far in advance do they give you to appear in person? I travel out of state frequently and I want to be prepared if I'm out of state when I receive the call, is it a date and time that is within a week , month? If I have to fly back down the next day, I will sacrifice the trip.

Usually about 2 weeks from when you receive the “thick envelope”

I’ll also  advise you to sign up for “informed delivery” it pretty much allows you to set up an account that has pictures of all your mail everyday sent directly to your email. So when you see something from the MTA you will pretty much know it’s for pre employment.

    Thanks ! ....

    Wait a minute am i reading this correctly, i scored 98.75 ( 1 wrong ) and my list number is excellent ( 12x ).

I really thought my list number would be more like 85x +. This is amazing !

Now hopefully they actually start calling names from this list so i can get out of my current job lol, i am so ready to go ! Also still waiting on my second pre employment for T/O list number 18xx, but i think i would prefer trackwalker over train operator.

Exam 3600 expired as of today with no new list being published yet from 8600 or the promotional 8704. Wondering how long it will take till they publish one.

When was the last class from exam 3600 ? I feel like they haven’t even been calling off that list. I got 79/80 on this new exam and I’m hoping I have a good enough score to get called ASAP.

I really hope they extend this list. Im sitting at 3xxx. I doubt they will get to me unless it gets extended.

You are will definitely be reached I know a few train operators, one being my brother and they are short down there, they need T/O’s. We gotta just remain patient, It will come. They got to 1200 and the list has  only been established for a year and 2 months. 3,000 is definitely a realistic number they could get to before the list expires.

does pay increase after probation ?

How is placement ? Can you get shipped to Brooklyn if you live deep in the Bronx ?

Is it harder to get jobs to clean cars in the yard ?

i was just called for medical after 4 days

I just received something in the mail for this as well, asking me to come down on October 02... is there any benefits to taking this job ? I'm currently waiting for train operator to call me and conductor, but my list number is a lot closer on the train operator list. My current job pays more, should i take this job just to get my foot in the door ? will taking this job speed up my process in getting called for the other positions i am waiting for ? thanks.

  10. Was looking for the old Conductor forum for the previous exam "8094" to post this in but i couldn't find it, so i figured i would post this here. So today in the mail i received a letter from the MTA ( well a pre employment packet ) for Cleaner(TA-labor)TWU L100 01-D and the letter is asking me to come down for a pre employment. Now reading this letter while i was in my elevator i was confused because i didn't remember applying to anything that had to do with this lol. So i go to the next page and its saying i am being considered for this position because my name appeared on the civil service list for the title conductor, exam 8094. it even says that list expired on 02/16/2018 that we all know. But if i remember correctly i only scored about 72 on that exam so this letter is a little confusing to me.

Has anyone else received this letter ? what do you recommend i take this job ? the pay is a little less than my current job, but i am also waiting for my name to be reached on the Train operator list ( about 400 slots away now). Would it benefit me to take this job in anyway ? My name is also on the current conductor list and  i have a score of 95. Also scored 79/80 on the recent track worker exam. So basically im waiting for a lot of other positions to consider me for employment. I did my Train operator first pre employment back in december of 2018. Now again i would just like to know if taking this position will benefit me in anyway ? will it help me move along through the other positions i am waiting for fast ? thanks again and sorry for the long post Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Is this because after he used his time he used leave without pay ? From the USPS ? While working for transit ? Man I intended on doing this when/if  the train operator calls me. I have 500+ hours of sick and AL combined with the USPS and I also intend on just LWOP ing until I finished probation after I use my time because my post office is so lenient.

I remember when I went for PE back in December, the lady that gave us our orientation instructed us to use our annual leave or sick leave from our current employee (if the give you time) while you begin working for the MTA , because she emphasized that the MTA is not for everyone. This way you have something to fall back on. So I’ve been saving my time just in case something happens in school car which I highly doubt won’t but who knows, I like to cover my ass.

I also asked if I had to fill out  the paper stating iIntended on working two jobs even tho physically I will only be working for the MTA, but she said no I didn’t.

Is this the post office demanding he be disciplined  or the MTA ?

I could’ve sworn ms.vargas said during my 1st p/e that it was like 85 days of training for one & 115 days of training for the other. Guess I heard wrong.

I heard the same thing as well, as a matter of fact I recorded that part when she gave basic information about the position on my phone. It wasn’t  ms Vargas but it was another lady. That was the info given to me. C’mon MTA y’all can’t be giving out wrong info lmao.
