Back when I started, the exam unit's excuse for not certifying the test was that they hadn't gone thru everyone's experience papers...I wonder if they're actually going to certify soon.

To add to what the poster above said...when you fill out your 21pg life story packet you basically have to reiterate the same stuff you put on the education paper when you filed. If in the intervening 3 years you now meet the requirements, by all means file for the new test.

I think illl pass this time around. I only applied to his exam becuase I was trying to get in by any means even though I didn’t really want this position.

i have a decent list number on train operator exam and I got 79/80 on the new track worker.  I’ll wait patiently for one of those to call me.

Some people think that they can get into the MTA without meeting the minimum experience requirements for various job titles. If you didn't have at least 18 months of customer service experience, where you were employed for 12 consecutive months with one employer, by the last day of the application/filing period, you are ineligible for appointment to become a Station Agent. You cannot appeal for a position you weren't qualified for to begin with. Even if you did manage to get in by some miracle's chance, they'd terminate you the second they find out you're not qualified when they conduct an analysis of your employment history. Sometimes they will run your background history after you're on the job, and if you think you'll get away with it, please think again. They will review your social security records, contact the IRS to request your tax returns, everything.

Yup I’ve worked customer service but I didn’t have the full time required , when I applied for this. So I’m not surprised, I figured 3 years ago it was worth a try, so I’m not shocked nor surprised.

  3. I see I’m going to receive a letter today from the MTA today but I don’t know what exam it’s for. I pray to god it’s for train operator pre employment lol.

    my list number is 17**

Hopefully it’s not a invitation to  take the OPA exam for cunductor because my list number is over 5,000 and I know I won’t even get called for that position.

Don’t say that. The last T/O list people over 4K got called in. I know a few people off that list and conductor list got called.

We honestly don’t know. Just have to wait and see, but don’t compare this test to the last one. That was a long time ago. During the hiring freeze years.

There were a couple thousand people per session. But it’s only for that one session. And it will only affect some people in a session. For example if mta states the correct answer was A when it was really supposed to be D. Those who put A got credit when it should have been wrong. Those that put D got it incorrect when it should have been right. If u put b or c it was wrong anyway. So pretty much those people that got their question right score will increase, if u got it wrong but had chosen the answer they put that was supposedly right, your score will decrease. Those people that chose the answers that was wrong that weren’t affected scores will remain the same. Hope u understand what I mean lol. Tried to explain this as best as possible. But MTA for sure messed up on the exam. They told me personally and it confirms with my answer key and someone else in this group that got 100 but received an incorrect score.

Ok got you,  funny thing is I remember on my answer key, I counted ,m6 wrong, but when they sent me my list number I had a score of 5 wrong. Could that mean one of the answers I originally though I had gotten wrong was protested ? So it might have had two “right” answers?  This was a different session btw.

Might be awhile before It drops. Transit is aware that they messed up on some people’s grading in a particular session. They are gonna re-grade that session and send everyone new scores. I can’t see them releasing a list knowing of this issue. It’ll only affect a handful of people though.

A few ppl ? Or a whole test session ? How many ppl were there per session? Couple of thousand maybe?

Did anyone on this site take this exam? I know from reading some of the other forums, some of our members have. My list number for this exam, out of approximately 68,000 people, is in the 17,000 range.

Notice of Examination for Exam #5001, Sanitation Exam

Yep i took it, scored 102.xx List number is 513x. I have a high 5th digit social so i got screwed in terms of the tie breaker.

I went down to long island city last may to take the Agility test in their big warehouse and passed it but that was it. Never heard anything else from them. I honestly don't have much hope of getting called back for that exam sadly.

I checked the proposed answer key and seems as I may have a 82% correct for the TW exam.

    What are my chances?

I knew this one guy took the last TW exam 3600 and he scored in the 70's but been working as a TW for a few years now.

    Just curious.

This time around will be very different, many people took this exam.

This is legit pure comedy right now i’ve never seen a MTA exam move so quick. List isn’t even officially establish yet and they calling in damn near a 1000 people.

Thank god i took this exam and got a  relatively decent score. Seems that the end of this year which is perfect these summer months is a headache. But that fall going into winter PERFECT!

That’s exactly what am saying lol something is weird about this. Yeah maybe they plan on sending like top 2000 people pre employement letters quickly  so they can do their medicals and have a big group of people ready for orientation and school car lol. Who knows but this is moving extremely quickly and I ain’t complaining.

  10. It’s pretty crazy how they are sending out pre employment letters to people in the 800 range. Are they skipping over a lot of people because they are offering provisional positions ? Or do they still follow the list order ? 800 seems like a lot for a list that isn’t established. I could understand like 1-200 max lol not 500, 600 or even 800s. Anyways Good luck all!!! Hopefully they get me next year. My list number is 17xx

i got 2 wrong which would be a 97.5% what are my chances?

If you have a low fifth digit social security number you should get called withthin 4 years. I’m going to compare this exam to conductor. It’s a very easy 80 question exam with thousands of people who take it.   Just comparing this exam to the conductor one I’ll consider about 30,000 people passing and people with two wrong could range from around 1800-3500 with the spread gradually increasing depending on the number of wrong. This is just my opinion though and based off my experience with many other exams that I’ve recently taken.

So they never called you or mailed you for the Conductor / Sanitation even after 4 years???  good luck on the T/W exam!

no well conductor list just got established not too long ago same with sanitation. But with my list number being so high there really isn't any hope in getting contacted within the years the list is still active is what i meant.

  13. I just received my letter in the mail. I scored a 91.xx and my rank is 17xx. This still blows my mind lol i might actually have a chance within the 4 year window to get hired by the MTA. I scored a 95 on conductor and my rank was 51xx also scored a 102.xx on sanitation and my list number was 51xx. So i pretty much lost hope and ruled out my chances of being hired for  Conductor and sanitation, But now there is hope with T/O :). Also curious to compare my track worker answers with the proposed answer key they are putting out tomorrow. I will honestly prefer to be a track worker over  a T/O, so I'm praying i did better on that. Good luck to everyone.

I think a lot of people were disqualified because of the license requirement for this test.

That’s bananas its 2018 who’s not over 20 and not walking around with a license ? I had my liscence since I was 19 turning 20 and I’m now 27 and never owned a car. I don’t get how many people could be getting disqualified for this. Also noticed people with low 90’s have a  great list numbers which is also weird to me. I got 6 wrong and don’t even want to know my score because I’ll be disappointed I didn’t do better. Especially after getting 4 wrong on conductor with a 95 score and a 5000 + rank.

It's not advisable to share answers to the exam. It may lead to you being disqualified.

Says who ? I’m pretty sure you can compare the answers because each session is different. So it’s not like somebody can use them to cheat. My am session is done already.
