  1. From 160* to 180* looking like over a good year for me. I guess Me and these busses are just gone get that much closer for a little while longer.

Will buy me some time to be finish up with my probation as a B/O and get ready to take the next step! which is perfect in a sense just in case you never know what can happen in school car as least I know I still have that job to fall back on.

yea for sure, see you tomorrow morning

That's good that you were able to take care of that right there and then, One less thing to worry about. Now we just got this medical to get out of the way to be in for the training on Monday.

Question to anyone that went through this process before, The money order part, Do we fill it out before we go or do we fill it out with someone at livingston? If we do have to fill it out on our own, whats the information that we put on it??

I was told by the gentleman who called me not to put any on the money order until you are told to tomorrow. Just come with it blank!

Sidenote: MTA is something else. How this money order is more then the actually exam. lmao! I think that is the funniest thing ever. But I guess they saying the way we plan on paying you hell what's another 87 dollars out your pocket. SMH!!!!

If there were any new developments, I guarantee you that this thread would be much more active.

From my understanding - we are waiting to see if the list is going to be finalized and if they’re going to start from the top of the list again for permanent positions versus provisional. If that’s the case, we may have to wait longer than the anticipated month for list progression past 630’s. However, there’s also the chance that the list will progress per usual and 630-700’s get called for the October class.

    That’s just my assessment.

What makes this very interesting is MTA projected this list would be finalize i believe in july / august. We’re days away from October all that tells me is MTA may have met there needs as far as T/O is concern especially with the “L” soon to be shut down. They gonna have a lot of operators to spread thru out the system. Don’t surprise if a few years go by before you hear any info. Just my opinion of course.

Some advice don’t wait around for them to call if you really wanna work for the company get in any way. Because once your in you can move around the company as you see fit!

Just got a voicemail telling me to report 7:30am Thursday to go forward with the medical. He also mentioned that if I clear medical on Thursday that I will be in the Monday Oct 1st class that's coming up. Anyone else get something?

I got the same email telling me the same thing. I’ll be there thrusday 6:45 see you out there my ninja.

Also to your previous question i did have pending tickets but i paid them and showed him the email aka receipt. And he sent me for the drug test.

Yeaaaa that was the guy that took us out back and got the process started. Was actually in the 1st group that got called up

Then yeah I think we was in the same group. I had on a gray hoodie with a blue hat. I was talking to him about pending tickets.

    🤦🏽‍♂️ Oh No!

Please everyone don’t quit your daily job Until you officially pass the 7-10 day training.

Yeah the dude was in the room saying who can give in they 2 weeks notice now and start on monday. I look at him like he was drunk. Like nah i’m not quiting nothing until i graduate and put into a depot.

  7. 50 minutes ago, Mr NewFlyer said:

By any chance, did they tell you details about Monday after you did the drug test? Like location, time to be there ect ... ?? They asked us if we could make it this Monday we gave our answer and got sent to drug test but no information about actually coming in on Monday. Been trying to call the hr employment number but for some reason can't get through to someone.

What did they tell you after you got the receipt for the drug test?

Only thing i was told was if everything goes well should receive a email or phone call come thursday to come in for friday do the medical and everything for the class on monday. From the look and the way dude carried himself he seem serious about what he was speaking. Dark skin brother bald headed had on a black suit. He wasn’t even at the counter like everyone else was he came from the back offices.

But even with that being said i’ve learn when it comes to MTA and the hiring process take it one step at a time. That’s the reason I’m not quiting no job until i know for a FACT i have a job with the MTA. And trust me you’ll know when that time comes.

  8. I was also there yesterday list # 25*. It was my second time at Livingston different exam and i will say that whoever idea it was to call 10 at a time bring them to a room run thru they paper work with them then send them for the drug test is a genuis. My first time they legit had everyone wait until they name was called to go to the counter. Smh makes no sense!

But I kind figure it would be faster for me since i had my paper work in the system already from before plus i already have my CDL premit. Hell they said people gonna be there to 5 pm i left at 11:45 am and still made it to my job. I laugh at the part when the gentleman in the room said you gotta put in your 2 weeks notice now cause a class is on monday all i said was HA! Not until i officially work for MTA. Meaning pass training and graduate.

Anything can happen in training and you end up washing out now look you got no job cause they told you to quit the other one.

I wonder how long is the list going to be anyone know?

The list hasn’t been made official yet to the public so it could end up being like the last MTA conductor exam which took years to become public then they ended up calling back 1000’s. So it’s really no telling how long. Then on top of that they could extend it even pass the minimal 4 years as well.

  10. If you never been to where they held the classes down in Bensonhurst brooklyn you have to understand that it’s many different positions going in for training in that very building more class rooms then teachers at some points. But take in mind that a class a month makes sense so as those classes near completion it’ll start to become a back to back kind of thing.

Where one class done this month 70 go in the next another 70 right now they probably don’t even have enough TSS to train people.

And i don’t know about yall but i want to be in a class where the TSS can actually help if you need the extra attention. Not feel overwhelmed or take from any other student trying to gasp a particular subject.

Folks, I just found something interesting which is worth noting:

I was checking out this website and I noticed that the filing for the next NYC Transit Bus Operator exam is this August, 43 days away from today.

Therefore, since not all of us are going to take the BOSS test on the same day, especially if it's held at 180 Livingston Street, I'm really wondering how many people passed this exam to begin with (and don't forget about the BOSS as well)...

Yeah i just look as well and that’s interesting how they’re already putting out another exam for both mabstoa and nyct. When they haven’t even started calling from either one. mabstoa i have a list number in 2** so i would know if they reach out for that.

What is MTA up to I wonder!

For those who filled out the pre employment packets already do you have to explain each and every arrest and/or ticket? Or do you just have to put the dates and location?

Personally speaking “disclose” everything. Full up the package with everything put everything on the table that way they can’t say you didn’t tell them when they start digging and trust and believe they will dig. As for dates only month and year is what matters. As for locations only general location matters like Brooklyn, NY or Queens, NY you don’t have to put the  exact spot or date.

True,  but I think after a certain time you become full time. My friend just started at Springcreek and he was told about 8 months...give or take...

Yea the young lady told me the same when i was down at livingston but i told her to wait 6 to 8 months with up and down pay working different shifts without a clear cut guarantee is hard to stomach. Lord knows i wanna work for MTA but to take a pay cut that large can put a lot of stress on someone when it comes to taking care of one’s self.

Now if they told me i would know my hours from jump and work those until like say a new bid come around then cool i could get another side job and figure it out from there. But the lady told me I would be on the extra list so day to day or week to week i could be working a completely different shift. OUCH!

  14. Reason why i declined was because i learned that the training is full time but the position is part time so that means you would have to leave your current job to do the training then would become a part timer. It’ll hurt me financially to go backwards like that. Plus your going to be on the extra list for a while so finding another job along with this would be  challenging.

Okay thanks I’ll be there really early

Your best bet is to always show up early. The earlier you get in the earlier you get out. Most times there’s a line even when you show up at 6:30 for a 7:30 time. But good thing the weather is breaking cause i’ve been out there at times on a line in the dead cold.

THE THINGS YOU DO FOR MTA!

If people really want the job but aren’t “prepared” why wouldn’t they just wait to go in?

That’s a good question i wish i could answer for you but some people just don’t think these thing’s thru clearly. Until it’s to late and they’re stuck!

  17. This is legit pure comedy right now i’ve never seen a MTA exam move so quick. List isn’t even officially establish yet and they calling in damn near a 1000 people.

Thank god i took this exam and got a  relatively decent score. Seems that the end of this year which is perfect these summer months is a headache. But that fall going into winter PERFECT!

    I don't think they're skipping numbers.

Keep in mind that this whole process is moving crazy fast. Some people will be caught off guard. My buddy and I were just joking about how this all came so suddenly that there was bound to be some people who failed the drug test because they didn't have the time to "prepare".

It’s not funny but it’s funny. That most likely the main reason why peoole missing out.

It's just that the vacation is booked and paid for. If it wasn't for that I'd be all over it asap but if i don't take this vacay, I don't know when the next one will be.

One thing i learned is whenever you get a new job you always let them know of your plans you had prior to being offered the position most cases they’ll work with you. So if anything i say go thru with the process let them know of your trip which was planned before you got the job. They most likely just schedule for the class after you get back.

  20. 5 minutes ago, kev2112 said:

If that’s the case then I was misinformed. I specifically asked about exam 7604

They get so many calls you wouldn’t believe it. My friend’s wife use to work there and she told me during these times they get upwards to thousand calls a day so i can believe that person just  instinctively answer the question without even double checking what exam number you ask about.
