  1. Yeah you have to wait til 3 years from august for them to not count it. What did they say when you went your first day?

Let me see if i can understand completely so you want 3 years as long as if you don't have over 4 points on your license then your good. Is that what your really saying?!

And if so i say to those try and go take a defensive driving course that may help mask them if so.

  2. Hey folks, I'm scheduled to take the T/O exam #7604 on May 31st,2017. I went out and bought the green and yellow  Passbook Train Operator study guide.

The sample tests in this book are as though you're already in "schoolcar" training. For example, the number of horn blasts when passing through stations as well as various air brake pressures depending on the situation.

These questions cannot be on the open competitive exam because newbies weren't trained in these things. Are there any guides for preparation just for the open competitive exam? I can't find any help.

    Please advise, Boomer815

The exams that I have took since MTA took over from DCAS had everything to do with reading comprehension. They just wanna see if you can gasp what is being put in front of you. As was stated they don't expect you to know about the job other than what you read from the notice. So word of advice since you already have the passbook turn straight to the reading comprehension section and study that. Pick up a good book and go from there. Get your mind and body back into the test taking form especially if it's been a minute. Best of luck to you.

sidenote: don't be like others use every bit of time MTA gives you during these exams. Trust me it helps and you won't regret it.

  3. Same with me. I had a suspension that I cleared for failure to answer a summons in may 2015 but they didn't say that was a problem. I went last week but the only problem was that I have 5 points from a ticket I got June 24 2014 so I gotta wait til June 24 next month when it makes 3 years since the date I got the ticket. And also u can't have any pending moving violations. No more than 4 points on your license.

Thank you for the information truly. That puts me at ease then. I thought that was gonna come back to bite me. And all I was gonna say "DAMN YOU STATE-FARM".

  4. What's on your liscence @drewmania?

Oh i just have a suspension because of insurance lapse. It doesn't even have to do with me being behind the wheel lmao. But i'm a realist i'll take my chance and see what's in stored for me.

My license is clean and I'm not saying that to brag. Im just very lucky I've never gotten a violation. I'm a cautious driver.

None taken my ninja. That's what's up i don't know many without even a remark on they license especially in new york city so big up to you... that's something to be proud of.
  5. Yeah ever since transit took control of the exams from DCAS things have gone crazy. I still find it hard to believe that they are returning to 8094 which was given 9 years ago

I thought it was just me. i feel as if they don't have the personnel to handle such a task where as dcas was basically known for what mta wants to be in control of now.
  6. According to this page, the filing/application period will be from May 5th to May 23rd. For those of you who are curious as far as what the Notice of Examination (NOE) might contain, I would encourage you to view the NOE for B/O Exam 2613 & B/O Exam 4600. There are many similarities between these two NOE, respectively.

    Happy Posting!!

I read your story from one of the other threads about how you had to wait 5 years or so before you'll get another chance at the job. I'm wondering are you going to take this exam? or you're just putting it out there for others to take advantage of...

  7. On other forums I have seen people say that ur liscence has to have been valid 3 years straight prior to them calling you down for pre employment. Meaning if u had a suspension that was cleared 2 years ago. You have to wait another year to go through with the process. Can anyone confirm if this is true or not?

That's a very interesting question and which i like to hear the answer to. I would think it would depend on what your license was suspended for.

  8. Some are saying exam 8098 is finish some are saying it isn't some are saying they are calling from the promotional list now. But i believe until everyone take this exam 7604 and are issue a list number that exam 8098 is still in effect. Now i could be wrong. But patients is the name of the game. Good luck to you @Moody
