Really? Why do you say that?

Reason i say that if you notice list numbers are high even for people with very low scores so that kind gives you a idea of how the list will unfold. They may even make it to the 70’s.

  2.  Received my notice as well. 17xx with a score of 91. I also find it wear that a friend of mines got a list number of mid 2xxx and he got a 89. So that leads me to believe that they disqualify a lot of people but how is the question. Think they look at driver records. I believe they had everyone write down they drivers liscense number for this exam.

That’s weird to me, I’m assuming the tests were similar but with TO paying so much more idk why less people would take that test.

If you ask me the T/O wasn’t promoted the way the C/R was. I mean i remember seeing it in news papers on the train hearing people speaking about it. Cause you literally needed nothing but to pay and show up to take the exam.

I also heard that since MTA took over giving they change up a lot on how they do things compared to how dcas does it.

  4. It would seem 95 and better is the mark. I got a 93 and my list # is 10,xxx which is bananas but hey. That’s why you never put all your eggs in one basket. Good luck to all of those before and after keep faith alive you never know!

Years almost done. Next year I should be able to take my boss test. I recently got a job as bus driver and it is pretty stressful. I encourage everyone to get some experience in a big bus/vehicle prior to training. It is a good learning experience yo.

I hear what you saying but i kind disagree i’ve spoken to a few instructors at transit and they all say they rather new drivers  opposed to a driver who’s been driving for a while they claim to many bad habits to break. The only thing i say is go get your CDL first that way you won’t have to stress yourself with basically another test after you make it thru training.

also received a letter, my random number is ~2400, dont know if i should even bother with the BOSS process since i started as signals helper a week ago... probably should do it anyway (just in case), especially if testing falls on my regular day off

If you ask me I say go for it especially if it’s your day off why not. Always keep other options open. You never know might get called back and say to yourself your tired of your current position rather do something else.

Omg thank you so much, I was so scared it would disqualify me, because it the letter I got it said they was going to check driving history

Just make sure you disclosed that you got into a accident. Don’t hide it cause they will find out.

Hi guys. I just received my random list # for this exam today,  #6**  is there anyone else.

Congrats, I almost received mines yesterday. I was over excited to see it. Hopefully after the BOSS it’ll be little to no time before we’re put on. Keep that license clean...

    Good Job.

You the man my ninja. This tread alone has help plenty including myself. And I thank you a million for that.

    Everyone has a chance.

There are rumors from the road that this will be the last open competitive train operator test and going forward the position will be strictly promotional... pending the hiring needs of transit.

I hear what you saying and that’s the truth everybody does have a chance but if we’re speaking honestly and realistically. A lot of people don’t make it who scores in them mid to low 80’s unless they extend the exam. I personally don’t think they’ll extend this exam but that’s my opinion. I’ve spoken to people who work in HR. I myself work at 2 broadway at transit for marking as a customer serivice specialist. And everyone say for your best chances get in them 90’s because so many more people are taking these exams then ever before. That’s the reason I say always apply to other postions just get your feet in the door then you can move around. I’ve applied for 7 MTA exams already.

I was there myself Raj, in the first classroom (I think there were 2)...

How do you think that you did? :) I hope I "told them what they wanted to hear"..

Have faith my brother. I’m sure your did good thing time around because you getting another chance at it while it’s still fresh.

    Drew,

So in your opinion, do you think that a score of a 90 will be good enough for some folks to get on, but my score of 86.6667 might not be? 😐😐

Imma be honest a 86 is really pushing it. The lowest i heard a MTA exam going to was the low 80’s and that was mainly because they extended the exam 2 times which they still calling people from that very C/R exam until next year Feb. So i mean you never know as long as you have faith.

Day 4, we did pillar turns.. not bad.. need to drive more caution when near pedestrian .. slow down when potential hazards are around. I'm looking to qualify day 7.. let's c how it goes.

At least you understand the issue and problems you have work on them and go for it. Make that day 7!

Who thought the last question was very tricky?

To be honest it's kinda hard to determine whether or not the last question was tricky because technically we all had different test. Where as the same question is most likely on the exam but in a completely different order from others. So yeah. But I mean give a example of the question at your own risk.

Took my OPA yesterday 10/17 and I was told by one of the supervisors that only the top 2,250 people from the exam received OPA letters with more batches to be going out soon.

Well just from them numbers alone and since I didn’t receive a notice that tells me I ain’t in that top 2.2k. Hopely a brother in the top 4k at least. Now i’m starting to really wonder when is this list going to go public. A brother could surely use some closure I’m telling you.

Thanks a lot hopefully our time will come

Trust as long as you got a 90 plus you’ll have a fighting chance. It may take up to damn near 4 years after the list is finally establish but at least your in. Just make sure to continue to apply to other MTA exam like T/W that’s out now. Always give yourself other options to get in the door. Cause once your in your in. Then you can move around!

I've been sent an appointment for an oral proficiency assessment for next week. What should I expect to happen on that visit?

Are you sure that’s for T/O or is that for C/R and you mistakenly place it in the wrong tread?!

UPDATE : ms.robinson just sent me an email to come in on Thursday the 12th for the medical. should I disregard the letter I received today ?

I personally feel that if the letter is asking you to come in after the 12th then follow the email ms robinson sent and go on Thursday. Just bring the letter just in case so you ask futher questions about it.

So I emailed the mta exams place about the OPA that people didn't receive in the mail yet and this is what they told me...

"We are testing over 30,000 applicants.  Not everyone will be tested at the same time."

Well thank you for that. This basically tells us that it was around 30k people who took the exam and that at least 30k people well be tested for the OPA.

Well everyone get comfortable this gonna be a LONG journey... sigh (ugh) lord take the wheel!!!
