  1. No...i don't think i did. I know i added the / for stop signal/ train order, and for approach/distant signal marker. hope that helps. It's going...it makes the S&D look like a walk in the park, i'll tell you that. But just like the S&D, at some point, it just clicks.
  2. Commas are no big deal. Same with spelling on certain words, unless it changes its meaning. As in pluralizing train(s), when it's supposed to be train, or vise versa. Good luck.
  3. By reading, writing and reciting a BILLION times. If your writing hand doesn't hurt, then you're not studying enough. When you're starting to memorize them, start with the flash cards.
  4. Yessir, but don't be intimidated, it only gets worse! But seriously, just like I said last time, read, write and recite. Make the time to study. You'll know if you're ready, It's likely that you'll see ALOT less people in that room on the day of the test. Some will give up before they try. Good Luck.
  5. I applied in Apr, 2017. I just started phase 1. Don't lose hope though. There's alot of factors involved that nobody is quite sure of.
  6. @drenyce311 Ok...Scratch that last message.I had my panel interview yesterday and they already called me today! I'm freaking out. That was fast! Literally the NEXT day!! I guess I did well on the interview! I'm excited and thankful.
  7. They called me less than a week later to let me know that I passed. It was definitely a good feeling to know that.I just did the panel interview and i'm pretty sure that things went well, so we're moving right along. Definitely a good heads-up on the possible class delay, I appreciate that. Let's hope it happens soon! I'm ready to go.
  8. Less than a week. I've heard as long as 3 weeks for some people.
  9. Thank you. Yes. STUDY STUDY STUDY. Read, write and recite. Also, make flash cards of the signals and definitions and use them when you're confident that you can start getting most of them. I also used a text-to-speech app and made iTunes files of all the definitions and put them on my phone so I could listen to them anywhere. Probably overkill, but it worked. And know the general differences and intricacies between the Zone A and Zone C signal indications. You will get frustrated, but I promise they will just start to click eventually. When you take the test, don't try to be the first one done, go back over all of your signals and double check your work. It's worth it. Good luck.
  10. It's so true. It's a combination of your background and what information they get from your tests/interviews. There is no figuring it out. For the person who had a test date for the S&D but afterwards got a letter stating otherwise, i'd definitely call HR to see what's up with that. I passed my S&D test very recently and they told us that they NEED engineers. Needless to say, i'm still studying everyday and can still recite it all verbatim. Good luck all.
  11. Awesome info. I just took the S&D test a few days ago. Any insight on the 6 week program at KO and Hillside? Any way to prepare, or honestly any kind of info on it would be much appreciated! Thanks
  12. Oh ok. If they told you that you passed then i'm sure they'll get in touch. I was just making sure that you weren't in the same test as me in early December and they still haven't called you. After my interview that day, I never asked if I passed or failed the interview. He just said if you passed, we'll send you an E-mail within a couple months. They sent me an E-mail I think 7 days later with the invite to the S&D overview. Good Luck.
  13. What date was your test/interview on? How do you know that you passed the interview portion?
  14. Ok. Would you say the information in the rule book is more or less content, easier or harder than the S&D? Ty
  15. Hey,any insight on the Rules tests during the 7 weeks of school after the S&D test? Just curious about the amount of material as compared to the S&D. TY
  16. Hey,any insight on the Rules tests during the 7 weeks of school after the S&D test? Just curious about the amount of material as compared to the S&D. Have you done it?
  17. I appreciate it. I'm going in for the S&D test shortly. I have the material down 100% and a couple more weeks to study, so i'm not worried about that test. I'm more interested in the Rules tests as far as their difficulty as compared to the S&D test. Also, any insight or a brief explanation of the 7 weeks of school for the rules would be awesome. Thanks, and congrats!
  18. Roger. I was curious bc a friend applied just days ago for BO. I wasn't sure if they're putting together an overview with applicants from that posting, or a previous one.Ty
  19. 3 weeks?! That's insane. Hopefully it's because you're tested on less material, but i'm not so sure if that's true. I know the LE's used to get 3 weeks to study the S&D. Back to studying...
  20. That's good news, congrats! Did you apply to the post was just recently up? Good luck
  21. Did you hear anything back from them on the Loco Engineer application yet?
  22. Thank you for those helpful guidelines. It's great to be here. Also, Happy New Year to everyone and good luck in 2018!
  23. Oh...i'm new to the forum and thought this was for LIRR. Thanks for the info though. I applied for an ironworker position with Transit. They responded literally two days before the LIRR did with the Engineer invite, so i went with the latter. Thanks again.
