  1. Apparently, the (MTA)decided to cancel the 155 CNG order for New York City Transit. As for (MTA)Bus, the 228 CNG order has been reduced to 110. The reason for this is because they wanted to fund the (MTA)Bus XD40s and LFSes.

It is very disappointing to hear because they are confident in buying more electrics then to add one last CNG order into their fleet. Originally they were to get 383 CNGs. 155 for NYCT, and 228 for Bus Co. Now this is not the case, as Bus Co. will only have 110 CNGs to replace most C40LFs. Spring Creek will get the bulk of that order, while College Point will get some. If the (MTA)gets awarded with more electrics, then College Point will get the bulk of it to replace their remaining C40LFs.

Seems MTA will go straight NF as Proterra and Nova Bus are shifting operations to a point where they aren't able to "build buses anymore". Also to note BYD also provided proposals but doesn't seem like they are able to meet MTA qualifications.

Basically we will be getting all New Flyers for this, and the diesel artic order then.

  3. The upcoming battery electric order for the (MTA) will go to New Flyer. The base order calls for 187 XE40s and 18 XE60s. The first option order would include 193 XE40s and 72 XE60s. The second option order would add up to 950 more buses. This brings up to 1,420 buses.

The pilot for the base order will be delivered in January 2025. The XE40 order will start in September of that year, and be completed by July 2027. The XE60 order will be delivered from September to October 2025.

3664 and 3744: both at JFK hooked to a tow truck individually to Eastchester for scrap. 3744 is at the scrap early today while 3664 is hooked to the truck now for departure.

And a Merry Christmas to all that’s this Sunday and Monday.

Flatbush does still have 8 Nova LFSA's.

Those are the SBS wrapped LFSAs from Quill. They might either stay, or get transferred.

It looks like New Flyer was awarded the 245 articulated bus base order. If the options are approved, then the(MTA)would get 691 XD60s. The pilots would arrive in January 2025, and will start delivery in August of that year. It would be completed by November 2027.

    (Look at page 37)

    https://new.mta.info/document/129106

Based on this, the 691 XD60s would be assigned to the following:

    For fleet replacement:
Gun Hill, Tuskegee Airmen, Kingsbridge, West Farms, Ulmer Park, Grand Avenue, and Casey Stengel.

    For additional artics:
Flatbush. I'm not sure what are the others for as of now.

Also looks like nova is out of the running for future orders since the MTA stated "Nova Bus ultimately withdrew its proposal prior to submitting a Best and Final Offer ('BAFO') as it decided to close its US manufacturing facility."

So basically, we will deal with all New Flyers in the Brooklyn and Queens on the artic side of things. But we will still have LFSAs in the Bronx and Manhattan.
