  1. Thank you, it's wealth of information being taken in at once so I stay positive because it can be a little overwhelming at times. I'm really happy I chose the B division though, more to learn but I love the diversity. We fell in love with the R46 after taking the Apple out of 207 to Far Rock, sucks that we're moving on to the two handed 68's so fast, but you never know I might enjoy it more. Can't wait to meet the crew at 179, we're at Concourse yard now.
  2. A lot of people in my class have restored there names. One guy in my group list# is 5** while mine is 15** I had to restore.
  3. Soon, keep your eye on your email and texts and phone calls. They emailed and texted me. I noticed a lot of people are restoring their name to the list.
  4. Hey future T/O 's, just wanted to check in and let everyone know what to expect. It's been two and a half weeks since I started School Car and things are starting to get fun, gonna operate the A line from 207th to Far Rockaway tomorrow 😁. The first week is going to be kind of boring, more paperwork and alot of videos on safety. You will also get track certified by learning how to cross the Third rail and climb onto the train from the tracks. Depending on your seniority in the class you will get to choose the division you want. By the end of the week you'll be split into a smaller group and assigned to a pair of TSS's . Practice squats and invest in a good bag because the books and tools are brutal to carry around. (You must have them with you at all times.) The second week will be lots of studying, more equipment and more studying. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of things and understand what the job entails. Good luck to everyone, make a group chat with your classmates, don't be afraid to ask questions as many times as you need. Don't let the TSS's scare you, as tough as they make the job sound they're there to guide you, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF you got this. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!!
  5. No, unfortunately. You need your vacation card both times you go in.
  6. Just reschedule your appointment via email they'll accommodate you. michelle.rivera-vargas@nyct.com
  7. MTA posted this video to encourage future Operators and Conductors. https://youtu.be/uKNNBT-qfAA
  8. I was put on medical hold last year June I ended up getting taken off the list. Reinstated in November and finally got cleared this month, a lot of people were called in between this time. List# 15** Would I still have seniority over those that were called after me?
  9. Can anyone who knows please tell how long it takes for your BSC ID to work on Safgard or in general? Thanks
  10. Question to anyone who knows, do the boots from safgard fit true to size?
  11. I'm not too sure, I don't think it's full yet though. I'm pretty confident that there's another one soon after.
  12. Finally cleared everything and got sworn in today!! Finally 🥲 April the 11th class List# 15**
  13. Yeah, I fill the date while I'm waiting, and no you don't sign in front of them. The lady at the counter suggested it to me so that anytime they call me I don't have to rewrite everything. I got called 5 times for pre-employment before I was invited for the medical, I wasn't about to fill out the forms over and over.
  14. No not the up to the exact date, I would say about a week before. Or you can always return with the paperwork another day. As long as you're using the machine you're good.
  15. After you pass your medical you will be processed and sworn in the same day. You'll know what class you're being considered for when you receive the conditional offer email, most likely from Ms.Vargas so keep an eye out. When it comes to the CPAP machine you should be able to get the results anytime from your doctor. They will require proof from the doctor that you've been using the machine for at least 28 consecutive days up to the day of your medical with an average AHI of 15 or less. Keep sleeping with the machine and you'll be fine.
  16. You have to show them initial lab test results and what the doctors diagnosis is. If you sleep with a machine your AHI has to be less than 15 on average over the period of one month, proof of this is needed.
  17. Hello to all future T/O's on this thread. Just a reminder before you get to second step please get in shape health wise. Can't stress this enough, especially with your weight. I was called last June for final processing and got hit with sleep apnea and couldn't go forward. It takes forever for a CPAP machine so if your neck size is 17" and over you have to take a sleep test. If you think you are 17 and up take the test NOW and save yourself the aggravation I had to go through. 15** got my medical on Friday, being considered for the April 11th class. Take copies of every single form you fill out without the date and signature so everytime you get called you're ready with everything. Good luck to everyone!! ✌️
  18. The criteria is based on your height, weight, and most importantly neck size. Anything over 17 inches and you'll have to take a sleep test.
  19. Nah I'll definitely miss this class, doctor says the fastest she's received results was a week. Everything else was simple, you meet the nurse and she takes your blood pressure (don't be nervous) tests your vision, EKG for the heart, urine sample, and hearing test. After passing those you will see the doctor who then discusses everything you put on the questioner, the doctor makes the final decision. If all is well you will continue to finalize the process, or in my case be put on hold. Good luck everyone! P. S. For anyone going for their medical don't forget the money order for $88.25 ($0.25... really 😅)
  20. Instead of employee choose applicant and enter your social. The instructions are incorrect. Did my medical today, gotta take a sleep test.
  21. Questions like, "Do you have any medical conditions (asthma, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes etc). Are you taking any prescription meds? Simple yes or no questions.
  22. Thank you, and same to all future TO's. Kind of nervous but hopeful.
  23. Wait I might have confused you and others. Mrs Vargas wants me to fill it out, print, and bring the forms with me. Nothing to respond to via email. I apologize for the confusion. There's also 2 online questioners to fill out for health.
