  1. @+Young+ the 2 point ticket was 8-14-18(conviction date) I spoke with my friends mom who works in the in a SI yard and does 19A all the time and knows the point system. She told me that I am fine and the points won’t be held against me. You’re allowed 6 points or less BUT they also go by the last 18 months of a conviction. I can have 6 points and under Within a 18 month conviction period. My abstract will still show all 6 points but MTA will only count last 18 months but either way 18 months or 6 points I’m good.

  2. MTA just called me….they said they are letting me to know I am on the hiring list and I should be getting an email within the next few weeks about the next steps. It’s not a job offer don’t quit your job but in the next few weeks I should be hearing from them. If I don’t get the email they gave me two numbers to call.

Here’s the issue. I had a 2 point ticket from 2018 and I got a 4 point ticket 6 months ago in December. Giving me a total of 6 points. I took the defensive course that says it allows up to 4 points to be reduced. I should have 2 points, my record still says 6. Someone at the DMV told me I technically have 0 and the 6 points showing are for insurance reasons and another guy told me that the course doesn’t take points off unless you’re close to suspension. Which is it lol and if it’s 6 points am I going to have an issue ?

  3. I called the MTA exam number. they said they just had 199 in their last class. They don’t know what the latest number physically called. I said I heard it was 500 in change so if my number is 11** it’s pretty much not if but when I get called to start my process he said yes.

Have you tried using cristcdl.com to obtain your permit? Back when I got mine, for the purposes of studying, I used the practice questions from this website 75 to 80% of the time (in which I made index cards and kept shuffling them up) and I read the manual the other 20 to 25% of the time.

(If you need all of the information, refer to the bottom half of the green announcement box, located at the very top of this webpage.)

If you click here, you can type your name in the search box located on the top-right hand side of the screen.

Chances are they didn't call you in during those rounds. If you use the website I suggested for your permit, which is free, you will get it! Trust me!

If I had to take an educated guess, it's not going to be for a while. The reason why is because, if you type "Bus Operator" into the search box of this webpage, you will see that from the agency's last certification on March 15th, the first 53 names for this position came off of the two prior lists, B/O 4600 and B/O 7612. Even if you scroll down further, the consecutive list numbers for this exam don't start until you reach the 68th person. In addition, as per this webpage, you now need an appointment to enter 180 Livingston Street. Therefore, they're only inviting a select number of candidates to 180 Livingston Street and working with this group, respectively.

If I had to take an educated guess on when the process will pick back up off of this list - I would say it might pick back up this summer (June, July and/or August). However, providing they don't extend the list for B/O 4600 again, that list should expire in January of 2022, and by then things should definitely be rolling with this list.

    Good luck!!

Ok but why is I when we type our name in our list number pops up 3-5 times underneath each other? They didn’t skip us right because we didn’t get a notification that we were even called

  5. Anyone have any idea when he process will pick back up? I heard they stopped at about 5**. Will we get a text message, or a letter when we are called in for the next steps? My list number is 10** when should I expect to hear from them. Is there a way to look your name up? I have my CDL

I have a question I searched my name for bus operators :why is there four name   Of my name on the list, I guessed it because it expired or they didn’t  call me in  during those rounds.I still don’t have my bus permit. I am so bad in permit 😭

Where did you look your name up? You need to get that permit or by the time they call you to come in and you don’t have it they will bypass you

  7. How many points do you need to have at the time of getting called. I’m a school bus driver so I have my CDL so just waiting on getting called. My number is 10** so I assume if they stopped in the 500s then when they pick back up I should be getting a message soon given it’s only 500 Numbers in change away right?

  8. Gotcha....yeah just figured if she got the text message...given her number and where mine is then I don’t think I’d have a long wait till I get that message. I’m assuming within a year in a half to two years. It was the message tell her to get her CDL permit and using this list to fill positions within the next few months

  9. Gotcha was just asking because my friend got called, well a text message to start her process a few months ago from My exam 9604. So if she’s in the 400s and I’m in the 1000s and they are calling from our exam just wondering when I would get a call to start my process. Again I know with covid going on but she got called from our exam

First of all, in an effort to hide your identity, please do not reveal your exact list number. Since there are 3,431 names on this list, as an example, if your list number is 4,205, you can reveal your list number as 4,2**, or 4,2XX or simply "in the 4,200's."

As far as an update is concerned, everything is at a standstill. They are still working off of the prior list, B/O 7612. Once they are done with that list, then they will move on to this list.

With the fact that your list number is in the 1000's, as far as getting called within the next year - I would say "questionable." As far as getting called within the next two years, I would say "probably," however we'll see what happens as time progresses.

  11. Does anyone know the current update? I know with covid and everything it is confusing but I know my friends gf got called and her number was 403....I’m 10**....you think I should get called within the next year or two ?

You gotta consider who’s retiring, can’t pass a drug test doesn’t have their permit, can’t pass a cdl so the list should move pretty quick...maybe 6 years to a month. I already have my CDL and drive a school bus so I’m just waiting in the wings

  13. I’m confused. December 15th was test 9604...the chief website just posted this The Department of Citywide Administrative Services established a 3,431-name list for Bus Operator on Nov. 27, 2019. The list is based on Exam 9604, which was held in 2019. how can there be the same test number ?
